Pulled these 1983 P Kennedy clashed die specimen from bank rolls around twenty years ago. Note obverse collar clash 2:00 - 5:00. Thanks for all the comments. This singular clash shows great detail at the nose and forehead. The incuse clenched claw and olive leaf clashes at the forehead accentuate t...

Re: OT - Graphic Multi Clashed Dies

WOW Roger, what a spectacular clashed Kennedy Half. I was trying to visualize, what details, from the reverse, caused those very strong clashes. I found an overlay,, which shows, where the clashes are from. I hope you don't mind, if I attach, that overlay, to your post. GREAT find, Bert THANKS Bert...

Re: 1921 Peace, cud? Collar Clash? PMD

Planchet defects have no direct influence on VAM varieties. Remember, a variety is a design change on the die which can strike many coins with the same feature/s. An error is defined as a planchet, die, strike mishap. Some striking errors may cause a design change on the die itself which result in a...

Missing metal below 9 and above STATES from defective planchet. Raised extra rim from slightly misaligned die. True collar clash displays spaced reeding indents on rim shoulder.

ROTATEDDIES.COM has a list of United States Coins with Major Die Rotation of 90 - 180 Degrees. The 1922 Peace Dollar is listed with a 100 degrees CCW and 180 degrees rotation as an R6 Rarity (13 - 30).

Re: OT - Graphic Clashed Dies

When you say "these", how many did you get? The pictured specimen in this post is the early die state with one strong definitive clash. My best study piece by far. Several different die states were found including the multi clashed specimen with gnarly surfaces showing die deterioration, flow lines...

Re: Back from LVA- 1921-D and 1922 D Revisions

Thank you Geoffrey for page update on 1921 D VAM 1K3 Revision. Die crack shows displaced field at both sides of first left star and another displaced field at int...
