I have a well struck, but not EDS, 1884-P VAM-9.2 and after looking it over think this VAM deserves its own page. My 1880-P 'New VAM-86' is on a November 28, 2021 letter.

Another difference, though subtle, is the thickness of the S at the top and bottom crossovers. Normal side up has the thinner crossover at the top. Of course doesn't matter on many of those mushy MMs.

Laudable project. Thanks for contribution to that year. It would be good if we had an expert for every year.
