Re: 1921P potential duplicate listings
I wish I could be of more help but... I don't have a VAM 12 because I became convinced it is really 1AZ, so I put a 1AZ sticker on it. I don't have either a 105 or 121, so I can't offer any opinion other than to say that LVA's "Diagonal Die Scratch Leaf Gap" plate image for VAM 105 matches the messy...

Remember when LVA's coins sold?
The annual Central States Numismatic Society show and sale is fast approaching at the end of this month – and is a reminder that it has somehow been 15 years since a landmark event in the VAM collecting world took place. pixs 1-3.jpg Everyone who was a VAM collector in 2008 knew that the Central Sta...

Your best bets for even the slightest indication are the population reports at SSDC and ANACS. Have you looked at them yet?

Re: Does a 1884-O VAM-8 have any premium?
If there is, my guess is it's only in Mint State grades. Here are the sales I have the last couple of years:
1884-O 8 65 NGC Apr-21 E $160
1884-O 8 64 ANACS May-22 E $119
1884-O 8 63 ANACS Aug-21 E $96
1884-O 8 62 PCGS Feb-22 E $75
1884-O 8 65 NGC Apr-21 E $160
1884-O 8 64 ANACS May-22 E $119

Re: looks like a new 1921-D
Looks like VAM 1DU. John: Yes it does! But a much earlier die state with very strong scribbles, no spike coming out of Liberty's cap under the S, and no bean bottom S. Would this make the listing splitable, as was recently done with 5C1-5C2? Need both coins. I can send you a 3-stage progression of ...

Re: On a 1921-S question, prooflikes
21-S in PL/DMPL are Mt. Everest rarities in the Morgan series. I've seen a 21-S proof before, but never seen a PL that I thought was really a PL.
I doubt any such list you are asking for exists.

Playing with 1921-Ds
1921-D MS67 copy.jpg “Hello, my name is Dennis and I collect 1921-D VAMs.” If I ever join an addiction support group, I already know how the “I have a problem” introduction goes. I started a 1921-D SSDC Registry Date Set about 18 months ago. It probably began as a result of prolonged exposure to 19...

extreme LDS 1921-D VAM 3B
I'm super excited to finally have been able to acquire a late die state VAM 3B "Streamer WIng" – and practically giddy that it is an extremely late die state example. VAM 3B http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.compute.amazonaws.com/wiki/1921-D_VAM-3B typically has a clearly divided 2-section raised di...

Re: SSDC Top Pops
Top Pop for SSDC is defined as the highest graded example (plus ties) for each VAM that is registered with SSDC. Higher grade examples may exist elsewhere, but a coin has to be registered at SSDC in order to be an SSDC Top Pop. As VAM collectors, we know the EDS/ULDS question is a valid one, but the...
