Re: KC coin show
I saw Brian's name on the dealer list. Hoping to visit with him a bit. I might have to throw my ball glove in the truck. Last time I saw him at a show (at St. Charles, Mo.) we played catch in the parking lot. He throws a pretty wicked pitch or two.

Re: KC coin show
Bumping to the top as this show is scheduled for next week. Hope to see a VAMmer or two attending. I plan to be there Thursday, and possibly again on Friday (if I work out any deal to sell some of my collection)

Curious if anyone is attending. Looks like there might be a VAM guy or two setting up there. https://www.cccoinshow.com/

I wasn't sure and should have looked a bit longer before deciding. LOL But I only missed it by 1.

I don't usually go for raw low ball $
But I made an exception today. Stopped at local dealer B and M to pick up a little silver and gaze at stuff I can't afford. Asked to look at the junk box of Morgan and Peace dollars. Saw a Peace dollar so worn no date was visible. But I did grab this 1890 Morgan for $16, figure I can shove it in my ...

Re: nailing down my o/cc
I'm leaning towards it being VAM 10, but then I'm not an o/cc guy so you might want to wait for others to chime in.....

Re: OT sort of
We could have one less hot day in July and August if they added them to February. Maybe someone can suggest that to the current administration (but they'd figure out a way to screw that up too!)

Re: 1889 O with Rotated Reverse, Guess the grade!
I guess I consider rotation to be based on where the head of the eagle goes in relation to normal position. Anything starting at the top and moving toward the 6 to the right is CW. Starting at the top and moving backward toward the left is CCW. I use the head of the eagle because I thought that is w...

Re: 1889 O with Rotated Reverse, Guess the grade!
It appears to me the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions are not good to use in "referencing" rotation as they can be CCW or CW 90 degrees from the top or bottom, depending on which reference point is used. If the coin in the posting is 45 degrees CW as stated, is the tail of the eagle the reference p...

Re: 1889 O with Rotated Reverse, Guess the grade!
I tend to pick up rotated reverses when I find them. CW vs CCW has confuzzled me. If you flip them over top to bottom, just use the clock to determine CW or CCW? 3 o'clock would be 90 degrees CW? 9 o'clock would be 90 degrees CCW? The coin shown would be about 45 degrees CW?

Several local show picks...
There are still some nice ones out there. Local show had only about 1/2 the usual dealers. Was able to find an AU 1878 P VAM 14.1 A, with very nice letter transfer. Also grabbed a darkside coin, an AU 1923 that said VAM 1B on the holder, but upon further examination is actually VAM 1V with 2 breaks ...
