Hubbed through water spots, we think. The 81 VAM 17 mentioned above is the best example of this (and is the 81 that I'd want for a date set). I think the 85 VAM 9E has this feature, which will be present in unclashed die stages, as well as after the clash, but I could be mistaken.

Indeed. JohnR's 78-CC presentation from VAM Thing XV showed up as one of the links after I viewed the 81-O recording. I haven't gone through to see what else is there, but in general NNP is a great resource that I recommend people bookmark.

Select the User Control Panel in the drop-down under your username. Then click on the "Board Preferences" tab, then "Edit Notification Options." One thing that can make it easier to tell the VAM 29A from the VAM 35 is that the 29A is usually circulated while the 35 is usually mint state.
