Re: 1921 Peace dollar for comment and suggestions
I daresay there are more Kennedy Half variety collectors than you're aware of. Plus the guys that work multiple series. There are pieces very similar to this that have a number, and if I felt like it I probably could get this called a discovery piece. But that's not the point. My question here is do...

Re: 1921 Peace dollar for comment and suggestions
So I'll throw this out there as a comparison. What would you do with this coin? Does it actually warrant or even need a listing number?

Re: Short and Sweet
The obverse really is a one and done deal. If you look at one of these, there are four shorter rays at the back of the tiara. There's only supposed to be two

He'd have needed a bunch of those. 4 maravedis was roughly equivalent to a British half penny

....and not a Morgan in the bunch Louisiana Purchase Expo medal from 1904. AA Weinman is the medalist, designer of the Mercury Dime and Walking Liberty Half. Re: 1878P Vam 163 question
At least some trace of the 'long line' is found on every example of VAM 163 and 167 (same rev die) that I've examined.. I mentioned this feature in my 7TF attribution notes published years ago in VAM View. It's a shame it ceased publication and nothing has really taken its place. It's understandable...

I'm supposed to be there. We'll see if Southwest cooperates and actually flies out of Columbus next week. I'll be at the company table and my presentation of 12 VAMs for 2023 right before VAM Thing. The show should be good.

Re: 1879 S Rev 78 VAM 77?
There's a little spike that comes off the the left side of stem just under the boll. It's in a somewhat protected area so it will survive significant circulation. This marker is present on the VAM 9 and 35 obverse. It is not on the VAM 77/77A

Re: 02-P near date with collar clash 3-4 O'clock
That 21 collar clash is fairly minor. Leroy felt this was the case when it came to him and simply noted it in an existing listing. I've seen nothing that would warrant a separate listing.

Re: 02-P near date with collar clash 3-4 O'clock
I was working on an order today and settled on a vanilla VAM 2 attribution. Then I recalled this thread and sure enough, the collar clash is there. Still need to see this marriage without the collar clash to make a separate listing.
