Re: what's with this S? (1921-P)

this just reminds me of @Geseas anomaly on his 78 . it looks like it extends up on to the MM where it meets it on the lower right .. this is why i want to get Ziess to build a coin scope version, with big optics and no stacking required... Picture borrowed From Dennis ,, it's pariodilla , its a tre...

Re: 1921 B over S in "PLURIBUS"

...like @UNCLE BINGO said, it's a hard thing to get your brain around. upside down and backwards. I think I was helped by being dropped a few times :)

Great thread for learning here!

Re: guess which 1888-O

And by VAMPIRE I hope you mean taking pictures of mirrors with no reflection , or glare or out of focus, and very pretty cause that is what MR . D can do , and he does it very well ! Yes Bob, that is exactly what I meant. The other was my feeble attempt to promote the digital camera instead of a sc...

Re: guess which 1888-O

Because I don't have one and Dennis's scope takes way nice pictures so wanted to be sure . Dennis sure does take way nice pictures... are you sure he is using a scope? as in micro scope. I am not sure...Things change quickly in technology. Thanks Bob, congratulations on your ID! You are becoming a ...

Re: 1892 V 3 partial collar question

Hi G i love the "mistakes "that came out of the mints . I've got a unicorn on my hit list now . Maybe a cool clashed vam number in a holder attributed with a side of partial collar mint error added just for fun .... I've seen few while searching this topic for sale , now i just got to find just the...

Re: 1892 V 3 partial collar question

...Bob, I grabbed your question from above; hope its OK to do: @Geseas is yours a reversed partial collar, or undulated or something else ? All I can think of now is putting a 1/2 lb. of burger into the press. When you squeeze down the round ball of the burger, (the hammer unto the anvil with burger...

The key to this partial collar business is that Edge View Photograph; as JB states above.

It is one worn coin.

Here is a photo of a regular 1921-S coin edge... for comparison:

Re: 1892 V 3 partial collar question

Ya I searched partial collar on the VW wiki page and it brought that up . I was just confused as to what partial collar actually was . My 92-P is not , i'ts just struck a little off center...as far as I know every V3 could be a little bit off center strike , very extensive doubling on it . I mean y...

Re: 1892 V 3 partial collar question

My apologies , as you can see i need to actually read everything while searching and not just look at the pictures... off center strike and partial collar are in fact two separate things . http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.compute.amazonaws.com/wiki/Partial_Collar sorry for the confusion Than...

Re: Attribution 101 page question

Thanks you guys for getting me on the right path again. I think the DPIS will prove to be a great tool. Maybe think about putting it into the Definitions page with a link? Just a thought.

Re: Attribution 101 page question

I believe I have some explaining to do... I was not familiar with the DPIS system and wanted to give it a try with UNCLE BINGO as my mentor. I grabbed a photograph of a Morgan date; cropped the photo to show just the base crossbar of the 'ONE' and the denticles underneath. I posted this and then rea...

Re: Attribution 101 page question

i Like the DPIS , although it is not really something my brain carries around with it quite yet , it is better and more scientific in my own feeble mind than the subjectivity involved in MM placement . Thanks from one of the new guys ! edit typo :) Hey Bob. Lets try one [1]! You first. (I have bett...

Re: Attribution 101 page question

Stuff like this is the exact reason I prefer the DPIS . For this example, I'd call it LE4RH5 . This is new to me. Could anyone suggest a way for me to learn more about this? (for a simple person) :) Thanks for a great site! * http://www.vamworld.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6141&p=51376&hilit=dpis...
