Huge difference between Jody's coin and the OP coin, but a big part of that is the strike. Grading 1921 Peace dollars is like grading Buffalo nickels. You have to know what part of the missing detail is wear and what part is strike. Like Buffalo nickels and Walking Liberty halves, 1921 Peace dollars...

These are tough to grade from TrueViews with that flat lighting. This die pair tends to have an above-average strike, if I recall. The huge problem is, the 1921-D Die Crack Break Guide is horribly not up to date. Only 77 different VAMs are represented in it, out of the 228 that currently exist. I would like to try and help fix this somehow. Any ideas how I can contribute? I own 3 raw, circulated 1921-D that you folks have seen...
