old post but nice coin. I hope I can find a decent vam 1a3
I hope you find one. This one actually ended up XF 45 with no details in a ANACS holder. I do find it unusual that there is nothing above AU 55 out there for this 1A3.

Lacquer thinner. Good for poison oak as well. There is nothing it's not good to remove. Trust me I'm a retired auto bodyman.🐍
Yes, lacquer thinner on a clean rag and wipe and immediately use gojo and your hands will be clean. That comes from 30 years in custom woodworking staining and finishing.

New VAM-E

Thank You Dennis Halladay for a good read on the 1884 P Dot VAMs.
Just maybe there is something in the Mint reports or letters that might explain that dot.

It does have die fatigue but probably not enough to be listed. VAM 58?

Looking to Buy or Trade For

Looking to buy or trade for broken mintmark VAMs. Graded preferred but will look at raw ones. No details types. Attribution label not required. Looking for: 1892-CC VAM 2 & VAM 14A - in lower grades. Cannot afford this one in MS 1896-O VAM 14 - AU 58 & lower 1902-S VAM 7 - MS 62 & lower I have these...

Re: 1887 Morgan die clash?

If you can't see the "E" it is not VAM 1B. :P
It gets tougher the lower the grade of the coin when looking for these reverse "E's". Hope you find one someday.

Re: Phantom E and Possible E clashers

I would even add 1884-O VAM 30A. I used to own this VAM but sold it recently. It had the cap clash on the obverse even. An earlier die state of the clash may show the E better.

Re: Phantom E and Possible E clashers

There is a page on VAMworld for phantom E's. If you type in "phantom E" in the upper right "search VAMworld" box, the page will show up.

Re: 1904-O Series Question

Appreciate all the responses. I am observing one with about 7-8 degree rotation. I just never seen one in the 04-O series and wondered if it was catalogued before. Thanks guys!

Have you looked at VAM 62? If that's not it, try to sort by reverse design or date using the attribution guide above the listings.

that is not a full cud. it's not even a cud. it's a retained cud, but i am glad you like it. my ebay guy thought my price was too high.
You are correct. It is a "retained cud". I need to proof read my post before I hit the submit button.

I have always wanted to find a MS grade 1921-D VAM 1N3 since my discovery coin is only an XF45. So when I saw this ICG MS 62 unattributed with owner labeling it as VAM 1N, I noticed it was a 1N3 with full cud on reverse. I did wait until in hand and the full cud is there. It also has the displaced f...

Re: Six Stolen 1878s

Sorry to hear this. I am sure they will show up somewhere as most people will not know what they have and will want to sell it quick. I would also notify local pawn shops if it was stolen locally from your Canadian post office. Will keep a look out for ya though.

Another Slot in my Broken Mintmark Set Filled

I thought it would be awhile before I could afford a 03-O in any grade but with the help of Uncle Sam, I pulled the trigger on this 1903-O VAM 4A ovaloid clash. I found it on a dealer's website (not Ebay) and paid a reasonable price for it. She is a beaut in a NGC 64 holder. Just a few more to go to...

Re: Stupid Questions from the new guy!

Welcome to VAMworld. The best advice I received when I started VAMming back in the day was to read all the content on VAMworld and when you get done reading it, read it again. Many professional experts on here to help so ask away.

Re: Fall Sale - All Coins SOLD!

I just want to say thanks to all who bought, especially the person who bought 99% of all the dollars. Never did I think I could sell all of them here on the BST board. I'd like to send some thank you money back to VAMworld and or SSDC for allowing me to sell on the BST board and maybe catch up on my...
