Looks like I will find out on Monday what LVA has to say. Hope he has plenty to do in retirement and keeps in touch with the VAM folks.

You have a VAM-12. If the coin is clashed (left serif of the N) then you have an LDS. If the coin is not clashed, then you have a VAM-12 MDS.
