these may be natural occurrences. now that i've revisited the thread. they do look familiar being on other graded coins.

sometimes close-ups are the best, sometimes full shots obv/rev, sometimes we need both.

from your images, not being able to see the whole coin obv/rev, i'll go with possible mount removed.

Actually, the centerpiece distinction is a tie that goes to my 1900-O VAM 5 Micro-O PCGS F12 and 1902-O VAM 3 Micro-O PCGS VG10... both of which also have CAC stickers.

since there is gunk around the edges, i'd say de-lamination resulting from improper metal mixture causing a little too much brittleness in that area.

only known 01-o that has a right tilted mm is 61 but that page has no mm image and the reverse descript doesn't say anything about a shared rev. nor does it state any rev die designation so i cannot see if it is shared.

it has to be. ive seen MANY holders that have lines like that showing through from imaging. always older holders. don't recall the specific generation(s).

i've hoped to find one in circ, unc was barely a consideration.

a general statement from the HPA states that coins manufactured before the date of the HPA's creation (1972/3) are exempt from it for buying and selling as well as any marking requirements.

for those that want to tinker with such a thing, the process sounds virtually identical to some things i've done with paint.net. the ability to add/select/deselect layers is easy as checking a little box or not.

looks like unusual damage from the pic where you can see the whole obverse. with the neck taking a hit i would really lean towards a damaged but graded coin. almost thought counterfeit but didn't want to jump to conclusions.
