When new 78-s v115 added, 78-s set is ok, but 313 coin specialty set , First Year Morgan - Basic, the coin occupies the 78-s V1E slot

When recent 79-S rev 78 v135 was added (old V35a, which wasn’t part of the set), it now occupies both V134 and V 39 slots.

He has found some nice coins!

Still, given the popularity of the 79-S B reverse set along with incredible price increases the past few years, it’s surprising that it has been such a low profile…

How did this one fly so low under the radar, especially when such a high interest specialty set? I don’t remember much (any?) fanfare about its discovery in 2019. No discoverer listed on on the page on this site. Curious…

OK, I see it’s now VAM 135; now the SSDC registry set(s) need to be tweaked (35A now 135). So what’s the story with this one? 78-S; V46

Yeah, I bought the Slab, not the coin; BTW, looks to be a nice unc. 1878-S V46. Nice paperweight for my desk.

Proof V131 have unique obverse and reverse dies that weren’t continued to be used for business strikes after striking the proof coins unlike 8tf V14.3 and 14.8. V131 die 1 has totally different obverse and reverse dies fro those used to strike proofs. It would have been less confusing I’d V131 die 1...
