1878s VAM-59
Heritage Auctions was selling a 1878s VAM-59 once every 42 months, they are now considerably overdue. Collectors who own one or more are holding onto these coins, making it harder for people to complete these San Francisco Long Nock sets. Similar problems are playing out with VAM's 58, 60, 62 and 72.

Re: 1878s Vam 111
Coin arrived, 4th star broken, any doubling in RIB likely due to PMD. Very sad day.

Re: 1878s Vam 111
I guess I deluded myself into thinking that the 4th right star is undamaged, and that the RIB was doubled. Now seeing that the nose is NOT over-polished seals it for me (albeit VAM-111 could have an earlier die stage). Thanking all who pointed out my delusion. I hope to continue to look and learn, t...

Re: 1878s Vam 111
If anything, it is the 4th "left" star that is broken.

Re: 1878s Vam 111
I have completed an extensive study of the coin's 4th right star by utilizing the seller's photographs, and have determined that said star is unbroken. The coin is in transit and I await it with gleeful anticipation. Thanking you all for your concern.

Re: 1878s Vam 111
I don't do the double checking and assessment part of the deal, I leave that to ANACS and JR. Makes life easier, always get a fair grade, proper attribution and coins returned. Seems that 1878s has an abundance of Vams that are almost only available in such poor condition.

1878s Vam 111
I like the unbroken 4th stars and the unbroken R's... Picked up my second 1878s Vam-111 on eBay yesterday, was a little surprised at the lack of interest in the coin. Too bad the RIB is doubled.

Re: O/T or NOT, I NEED SOME ECON 101
The bank made some “money” out of thin air and loaned it out. The bank wants compound interest on this “money” but never made any of this extra “money” to be used later as interest. Since no “money” was made to pay the compound interest, people are going to have to compete hard with each other and t...

Re: O/T or NOT, I NEED SOME ECON 101
Rather than nations coining their own currency (a right of nations), the governments borrow money from banks that the banks make out of thin air, then saddles the citizenry not only on the debt, but force the citizenry to pay compound interest on this fraudulent debt. Rather than be concerned with t...

...rising prices... Rising prices is one of the results of inflating the paper money supply.

Re: O/T or NOT, I NEED SOME ECON 101
Inflation is not rising prices, ricing prices is a result of inflating the paper (and now electronic) money supply. Inflation refers to printing more money, see that dictionary meanings have been altered recently in order to obfuscate the real meaning of inflation. Even Tucker Carleson got this wron...

Re: 1878-S VAM-1i Rev, Unlisted Obv Die
I have a growing collection of VAM-62's (getting close to ten), a result of this collection is that the VAM-62's are just as rare as the VAM-60's and VAM-72's.

I am especially pleased that the 62's graded out. The rest of the coins did not matter so much to me.
