1878 S long nock VAM 27 A: Over buffed - Pre or Post
Pretty certain I have the attribution right. It has the broken D, N, and denticle. I can see the die wear at DOL. And there is a die chip above the top arrow feather. But the buffing has me at a loss. Easily, 60-70% of everything on both sides has what looks to be a buffing halo. I have a 1891 O VAM...

Re: 1902 O VAM 67 Privately Made
While researching a coin I was looking to buy, I saw the note on the 1901 O VAM 60 page, "C3 type reverse with III O mint mark titled slightly to right similar to 1900-O VAM-22C1 counterfeit, but no confirmation of same die or same copied coin." I think that can be confirmed. When comparing the reve...

1902 O VAM 67 Privately Made
Picked this up from the Bay this week. Pretty sure it's a VAM 67. Has the gouge in the denticles at the neck point and a C3 reverse. Even though it's a higher grade than the other privately made I have, it's hard to see the crack at STATES. (Looks to me to be around VF 40-45.) One other thing I noti...

1888 VAM 11A... but with a scratch
Picked this unattributed off the bay recently. I'm pretty sure about the attribution. My question is about the scratch above her cap.
Is this bad enough to get a details grade?

Need help with page for new 1881 VAM 36
After it made 2 trips to JB and 2 to PCGS, got my 1st discovery back this week.
Can someone please create a page for it?
Thanks, Jonnie

Need help with an 1879
I thought it was a VAM 99 based on the diagonal polish line in the D shaped void, but the angle looks wrong and there isn't a thread in the left wing. When looking for other pick up points, I found a long, curved vertical thread on the cheek that goes from even with the bottom of the earlobe down in...

Re: 1888-P VAM7 stage help, please?
IMO, I'd call it a 7C since all of the lines above the left wing are gone.

1889 VAM-31 Possible letter transfer
Picked this one up from the bay recently. If I get the angle right, I can make out the top of "t" by the hair vee. But the ones that really stand out for me are what looks to be the top of "w" from "we" at the designer's initial and the tips from the "M" on the "w." With the 7-8 degree rotation, the...

1879 VAM 37 - 2 Questions
I believe this is a LDS. A lot of the original pitting in the field has been polished away but there's still plenty in the laurel wreath. More pitting has begun on both faces. All of those black dots are raised bumps. First, do I have the attribution right? Second, How can I get the black off those ...

Pleasant surprise from PCGS
I had sent JB some coins last year as part of a bulk submission and there was a problem with 2 of them when they came back. An 81 P and an 81 CC. They were consecutive numbers (42006652 & 42006653) and identical grades (MS 63) and they had switched the holders. So they paid for shipping both ways an...
