Hope these help.pup_picker wrote: ↑Sat Jun 05, 2021 6:36 pmsometimes close-ups are the best, sometimes full shots obv/rev, sometimes we need both.
from your images, not being able to see the whole coin obv/rev, i'll go with possible mount removed.
really nice close-ups and presentation though.

1886 PMD or not
I have this 1886 VAM 5 that has what appears to be ridges along the tops of the Motto and Legend. When I saw the flattened wing tips I figured it to be from a coin roller. I liked that idea less as I noticed the ridges followed the contours of the S's and were straight across the T's and E's. And un...

1878 CC VAM 1B question
I believe this coin to be a late stage VAM 1B. It has the lines through IB and the gouge in the leaf cluster. The thing is, it also has a few of the pickups from VAM 29. Lines in the lip, eye, and ribbon. It doesn't have lines through the W in WE or the denticle impression. The crack between T and A...

Re: 1900 VAM 11 LDS?
Might be worth taking a look at VAM 16 Bingo! Never looked at that one. One of these days I'll get good at this. It is right between 16 and 16A. It's reverse has the tiny scratch up from the denticles to the D in DOLLAR from the 16. It also has the faint crack from the D in UNITED through the wing ...

Hope these help

1900 VAM 11 LDS?
Picked this one up off the Bay recently. It has all of the hallmarks of a VAM 11, but it also has several that aren't noted or visible on the coin shown on here. The reverse has a nice chip and scratch inside the O in OF. On the obverse it looks like the inside of the bottom of the 9 is doubled, the...

Re: 1901-O Privately made vs counterfeit
only known 01-o that has a right tilted mm is 61 but that page has no mm image and the reverse descript doesn't say anything about a shared rev. nor does it state any rev die designation so i cannot see if it is shared. these are fun to hunt! I had checked the 61 but passed on it because my date lo...

1901-O Privately made vs counterfeit
I recently took this coin from an old unopened bank roll and I'm not sure how to classify it. It's rather worn so finding any pickups has been difficult. It has a C4/C3 reverse and a filled "e". The lefthand leaves on clusters 2 and 3 of the left wreath are very weak. The 2 left leaves in cluster 4 ...

Need some help with an 80_S
Having trouble identifying this one. It has scribbles on the cheek reminiscent of one from 1921.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Help with a 1926_S
Finally noticed the over polished bun and I think I've narrowed it down to possibly being VAM 3R or 3S since the heavy polish lines are most visible at ERT.
Regrettably neither have reverses listed so I'm still digging...
