Re: Acetone geyser.. PSA

My comments will be mainly directed to other than Morgans, simply because this is where you should experiment and learn. Historical restoration can be either rewarding or tragic. There is little room for error. In addition to the coins, I have restored vintage British motorcycles and Museum collecti...

Re: Gold/Silver Ratio

John, I am frankly disappointed in your response. To cast disparaging light on my views with the injection of “Black helicopters and a buttload of baseless conspiracy “ is beneath you. Those poison arrows fall somewhere between “racist” and “holocaust denier.” You are respected for your civil nature...

$1 is the max value by law for a silver coin
$50 is the max value by law for a gold coin"

So... If the "government" requires you to turn in your gold and silver Eagles, how much compensation do you think you will get?

Re: Acetone geyser.. PSA

Geseas, acetone is an accepted coin cleaner. I buy it by the gallon, and use most of it on foreign coins I pick from the B&M bucket. I also use it on motorcycle and gun parts. For the coins, it will simply dissolve the grime of dirt and hand oils. If I get a Morgan in a stapled 2x2, the first thing ...

Re: Gold/Silver Ratio

Would it be of any value to consider limiting the discussions of metals and markets to the "What's it Worth?" forum? I find that we have so many talented and experienced people here that I would like to benefit from their knowledge. And offer my own opinions for critical peer review as well. I don't...

Re: O/T POOR SILVER THE LONG AND SHORT STORY

Thank you Scott for sharing your views. I'm sure they are the product of many years of study and experience. But I don't understand all of it, and don't want to waste an opportunity for an education. What do you mean by, "transportation problems from mines to refiners..." Surely there is no shortage...

Re: Zero Inventory

I recall taking a course in Economics at the State University many years ago. The first half was devoted to philosophies of John Maynard Keynes. And the second half was devoted to the philosophies of Milton Freedman. One made perfect sense, and the other espoused everything contrary to my upbringing...

I would go 8 and 6. But I have very little experience on that end of the spectrum.
Love the challenge and the learning. Thanks for posting.

Re: Market, but not a B,S,T Question

I've noticed both a downturn in prices for the common coins, and an emergence of high end coins in the '04-O series. Similar events are taking place in the firearms and motorcycle markets. I suspect all collectable asset markets are affected by current political/social/financial events. Bullion and ...

Re: What is good about a digital camera>

I use an old camera. I tried one of the scope devices, and while the hardware was good, the software was terrible. The same is true with my phone, computer programs and nearly every other electronic device I come in contact with. It is my opinion that all too often, the user's manual was either writ...

Re: Who else is growing a Quarantine Beard?...

Not sure who all got word, but I was in the hospital for just over a week. Had to have a couple surgeries that saved my life. Working on recovery now from home as an outpatient. Since I will probably trim down my beard and cut my hair tomorrow, I thought I would post an updated shot. Lost a lot of ...

Re: OT: Of Metals, Markets and Pandemics

Thanks Morganman for giving some credence to my post. While there is still a lot of good information out there concerning the Bilderbergers (Trilateral Commission, Council on Foreign Relations, Skull & Bones, etc.) much of it is being deleted. Facebook and YouTube have been especially active in this...
