Re: I need help with my 1886 NGCMS63

Thank you John, When I clicked reply, it doesn't show your reply and I think you said a picture of the vam 6C die crack was on the supplement 5 page. How do I find that? Here are pictures of my 1886, behind Liberty's hair. Does that look like the vam 6C die crack? luckily Sandlor is strong as ever. ...

Re: I need help with my 1886 NGCMS63

Thank you John, You got my curiosity going, when you said . (It does look like the VAM 6C die break might be present, though.) Where do I look for the vam 6C die break, because I didn't see it mentioned on the vam 6C page? Are there any pictures of the 1886 vam 6C and does it show that 'spike like' ...

Re: I need help with my 1886

Thank you Lee and John, Yes, after reading the vam 6 C information and looking at my 1886 closer, It explains why there is no N clash on my 1886 and I then saw the tiny die chip. (Diagonal clash lines at Liberty head neck, but clashed n worn away.) Also; (medium size die chip in field to right of Ph...

Re: I need help with my 1886 NGCMS63

Thank you Vern, It took me awhile to find my post to see if anyone had replied. I didn't see it on the Discussion Form and when I did a search on bhinkle nothing, then Brian said search 1886. I wish the old Vamworld was still working. With the help of Rod and Rick, I finally saw the vam 6C, which ev...

I need help with my 1886 NGCMS63

It has been a LLOONNGG time, since I found anything interesting. I first thought my 1886 was a vam 1A1, but I can see no N or ST clashes, but the upper diagonal clash looked like it was in the same position. I do see strong clashing in the lips area. I see a double clash, under the N, in IGWT. I see...

Re: 1891 “EIBERTY” Morgan Dollar, "LIBERTY" MISSPELLED

Very interesting, to say the least. I looked at one of my Morgans and the way the letters of Liberty are formed. On the ends of the second letter E, after the B, the top and bottom ends are angled outward or at an angle. On the first letter E, the ends are 'vertical' or straight up and down, like on...

1880 O HANGNAIL?

I'm pretty excited to be lucky enough to have spotted and won my first 1880 O PCGSMS61 vam 48 hangnail. I've been looking for one for a long time. No mistaking that very cool die gouge. in the tailfeather. Here are some pictures. Bert 1880 O PCGSMS61 BHJ OBV.jpg 1880 O PCGSMS61 BHJ REV.jpg 1880 O PC...

Re: I need help with my 1904 O

Here are some of the very impressive diagonal polishing lines all over the reverse. Around and inside of the bow. All through the tail feathers, above and below the arrow and olive leaves branch, in the 'middle' of the eagle's neck, through the letters of WE TRUST, in IGWT. Again can anyone please t...

I need help with my 1904 O

I have this 1904 O PCGSMS64PL, that I couldn't find anything until I looked at it, with my digital microscope and finally saw the doubling along the profile and then started to see a lot of cool things, like all of the diagonal polishing lines all over the reverse. Around and inside of the bow and o...
