Re: 89P- 23B, but what stage?

Appreciate this post because I continue to learn. Been hunting the same hunt unsuccessfully but holding out hope for that elusive 23A in all her glory.

Re: A GAMBLING STORY/MORGAN $/ RENO NV

Stories like this are just as valuable to me as the coins we have fun hunting.

Thanks for sharing a bit of your journey. Sounds like an amazing experience anyone would treasure.

Re: 1883 Small Pox: Is it worthy

Perfect! VAM 14 needs to be listed under the pitted dies guide. Thank you. MarkyB , as we all explore more the more we learn that somethings are very common and well described. Adding the VAM-14 to the Pitted Die page ( http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.compute.amazonaws.com/wiki/1883-P_Pitted_Dies...

I'm not seeing doubling.
Thanks to you and @colwillys.

I blame the combo of gin and aged eyes. Will try and get better pictures because they really don't show what I think I'm seeing (imaginary or not).

Appreciate your input.

Quick 1934-S darkside question - maching doubling or bad eyes or other?

The supposed tiara and olive leaf doubling I'm seeing is likely due to the gin, my aging eyes, machine doubling or they might be real. I have no idea so I'd ask the darkside gurus (or others who really just want to chat...) for an expert opinion. Don't think it a VAM-3 (I don't see a lot of doubling...

Re: Patience, persistence, and a little bit of luck

Update on an old story.... finally sent the 9B in to ANACS for certification. Cleaned G4 - about what I expected. But it did fill one of the missing slots in my set and is currently the only one listed. Amazing for as tough as it was to find one, it raised my 91 o set score by 16 points Just glad t...

Do not follow this link if you're easily offended, but here are 35 classic book titles (non-numismatic so this falls into the OT category - let me know if I have really passed the 'not sure if this is allowed' level): https://digitalsynopsis.com/buzz/worst-funniest-book-titles-covers/ . Re: Overdate VAM-20

Digging up an old thread after seeing the grades from my recent submission @ ANACS. Looks like the VAM 20 now has a sibling... new VAM 20 A discovery piece. Thanks for sharing this because I missed it the first time around. Have learned a LOT (and enjoyed the story more). Both coins (and more of th...

Not my sale but if you're intersted in an 88-S monster gouge, see S&B's auction

Sorry if this goes against the rules, but I wanted to let anyone who is wanting a nice (63) grade 88-S VAM-13, there is one NAOH on S&B: https://auctions.stacksbowers.com/lots/view/3-VM0AB/1888-s-morgan-silver-dollar-ms-63-pcgs-ogh Current bid is $575 without the premium so not far beyond the ordina...

Yup, It's one hell of a family tree
Similar to most family trees I know. Deep in the, er, south... or in the midlands of the UK where I now reside. #rednecksareeverywhere!? :?

My honest question still remains, though: should I get it reholdered via ANACS, or VSS, or let 'er ride as she is?

The VAM 55 has the same reverse as VAMs 6C, 6D, 68 and 11/11A/11B - a real workhorse Love this jumbled mess. And, yes, classic scratch on the first left leaf cluster is there: Scratch on first left leaf.jpg I have a VAM-6C and two 11As. Looking forward to finding the others so I can look at the ent...

1880-O VAMs 16, 17, 17A, 55 and 63 die progression in this order, too?

I have an ANACS blessed VAM-16. Supposedly. I'm wondering if this is a timing thing, however. As in, the coin was certified before the revision happened in 2010 that corrected a few questions/issues between the two. Can't tell when mine was slabbed but this is a middle aged holder, is it not? Might ...
