Re: PCGS Frustration

Just curious why folks continue to be loyal to a company that is obviously in a tail spin?

Re: Interesting counterstamp. Anybody seen this before??

Looks like a direct hit from another coin, not a counter stamp to me.

To answer your question directly, there was no offer to come to my house and I didn't ask. Hope that helps.

Re: Coin Divesting

Wayne, I am a HA Legacy Client. I have sold stuff on HA before. I knew the drill. I sent them an Excel spreadsheet with what I wanted to divest. That being said, the sellers commissions were as follows: GC: $5 per coin listing fee, and 5% sellers commission per coin. HA: Flat 5% sellers commission, ...

Re: Coin Divesting

By the way, I should add that GC does not accept or honor VSS attributions or stickers. HA does.

Coin Divesting

Thought I would share. I will try to refrain from commentary and leave it up to you to make of it what you want. As some of you know, I started to divest most of my collection in January. I went three avenues as follows: 1. Offered and sold coins here on VW via the BSTA page. Satisfied. 2. Had a loc...

Let's just say that from what I understand, a lot of Briggs' coin were lost in the mail.

Re: A visit with Leroy

Very cool get-together! I like the old school T-Square on the wall in the background used for manual drafting. A testament to his early engineering days as a mechanical engineer. Good training for the minting process.

That is completely up to you of course. Nothing wrong with an EF40 in this series.

Re: 1892 s Morgan question

Well the LFCP of the obverse rules out a VAM-8. I was going with the m/m placement. The VAM-8 is a normal date, mostly centered within normal.

There is a lot of die incest in the 1892-S series. So it could be many die pairs. Hard to tell with the pics. And yeah, a EF40 coin makes it tuffer.

Re: 1880 VAM 56 exists

The VAM-56/56A were a two-fer listed by LVA based on a coin I had as the DC back in early 2009. I likely had the DC but let it go into the pond back in January. If it is important, I can look and see if I have the letter from LVA.

Re: Gas Prices

I could say a lot of things that would probably make a lot of folks very unhappy. Then again, some folks would get it. But since this is a VAM site, I will refrain.
