Admission: I really don't like scribbles. I rarely ever look at them. They're frustrating and often more confusing than helpful.
I vaguely recognized the double polishing lines at the lips, and looked through my coins until I found it.

Re: I think this is a new D2 1921-P
It appears to be a very nice example of VAM 3HA1

Re: Anyone (Dennis) recognize this 21-P
I agree it's VAM 3BB!
I started a "21P die crack break guide - guidance / discussion" thread a while ago, mostly to say that we should add break diagrams for both 3BB and 3CV. Haven't gotten around to figuring out the best way to make these...

Re: 1921P potential duplicate listings
I am indeed hoping that a reexamination of LVA's photos may help sort out some of the 21Ps, especially those for which a photo hasn't been published. One more to add - I think that VAM 1BA is an early die state of VAM 1Z. Attributed examples both show a die file line to the first S in states, that w...

Actually, it's probably a VAM 94. Die breaks aren't big enough to be a 29A. Now more curious about the collar type...

That sure looks like a VAM 29A from here. Check the collar.

This looks like a strike-through error, most likely through a blob of grease.

Re: 1921-Ps from LVA: 1 kill, 1 new, 2 revised
Congrats on combining 3AA and 3FU, and congrats on the 3HR! I disagree with the VAM 1 attribution, it has many listable PUPs. Well, you were saying that you didn't have an actual VAM 1 before, so now perhaps you do. And like perhaps like other date/mintmark combinations this VAM 1 can be unique and ...

Re: Does 1921P VAM "20A EDS" = "VAM 20" ? (update - YES)
Hi gang, Well, just got what is likely my final package back from LVA. Resolved one minor 1921P issue, in that LVA formally killed VAM 1BP as it is now VAM 1BN2. Got totally shot down on another; I sent in a VSS attributed 1921P VAM 50 that I didn't think matched the plate photo but LVA thought it m...

Re: 1921P potential duplicate listings
Thank you for your feedback, gentlemen! I've been doing so much cross-referencing lately between different 21P examples and various photos and descriptions available. It's sad/funny how there are about a dozen pairs that are likely duplicates, but there aren't enough photos available to be sure. Two...

Re: Meet your new Official Attributors
I am so heartened to hear that it's you three taking on this mantle and sharing this load, as you're all clearly so knowledgeable and passionate about die varieties. Congratulations!
Will there be any change in the format of new designations to signify that they are post-LVA?

1921P potential duplicate listings
Hi gang, Since there has been a lot of progress since the start of this thread, I am modifying this first post to summarize some of the recent 21P listing changes, those issues that need further input to resolve, and other possibilities that have been mentioned: Listing changes: VAM 1G has been reti...

Re: New VAM-e Sent - Michael Fey Buys LVA Assets
The main surprise to me isn't that LVA might (finally) be relinquishing sole control of the catalog of Morgan and Peace die varieties, but that it is Dr. Fey who has made this acquisition. He's certainly very knowledgeable and has a strong numismatic history, but he's been so dormant for the past de...

Re: New VAM-e Sent - Michael Fey Buys LVA Assets
Fascinating! Very curious to see how this develops. Also very curious about my package now with LVA - hope it didn't get sold to Dr. Fey. Was just preparing what to send LVA next for a few potential 21P kills before year-end, but I guess I'll have to address those issues later with "the new guard" w...

Re: 1921-P D2 polishing (VAM 3DV EDS)
Thanks for that feedback, agreement, and photos, Dennis! I'm waiting for a small parcel to come back from Sydney Ohio soon, but I may pursue this in my next submission/conversation with LVA. I think I have enough of a range of die states to show its history. I was also thinking I may try to show tha...

Re: 1921-P D2 polishing VAM 3DV - same as VAM 3AN EDS?
Dennis, might VAM 3DV be a duplicate for VAM 3AN EDS? Both my VAM 3DV examples match the other markers for 3AN1.

Thanks for updating that, Brent!
I think the decimal makes sense. Numeric suffixes are used for stages; with the decimal, it usually means die pair number.

Some 78P / 83P / 85-O / 21P on Great Collections ending 10/3 and 10/10
Hi gang, I have some coins up for sale on Great Collections both this coming weekend and the next. Since I think I know the VAMs, of all of them, I might as well post them here. All are starting at low “as suggested by Great Collections” pricing. Thank you for your consideration! Ending Sunday Octob...
