Re: 1921-P VAM-3GS

There is letter doubling on my 3GS as well. It's a pretty common feature on 1921-Ps in general, so I guess LVA thought it was not significant/important enough to mention in the official description – especially since he had begun focusing on scribbles as a key diagnostic about a decade earlier.

a big GSA "OUCH!"

I've heard of GSA Morgans having fatal grading issues in the holder, but this coin on eBay is one of the few I've ever seen. And no, the seller did not say anything about those awful reverse scratches.

Re: (90) 1921-P crack maps added

Awesome! Is the tablet working out for you? Those were all done with a mouse (and the provided/recommended template). Haven't had the patience to not be able to do anything while I stopped and tried to try and learn the tablet from scratch. But I got the necessary cable and downloaded the 95-pg man...

(90) 1921-P crack maps added

I've drawn 27 new 1921-P D1 reverse crack maps, and 63 new D2 reverse maps, that Fogie has uploaded to the 1921-P Die Crack Break Guide. Many holes still remain, but at least 90 more of them have been plugged.

Scribbles look like 1EH to me.

Thank you sir!! :D
Mine doesn't have a little dot above the olive branch, but the scribbles are a definite match.

unknown 1921-D

I bought this at G.C. because the two key cracks on the coin (bust tip to first left star; and from F through the eagle's right wing tip) didn't come close to anything in the crack guide. Now that I have the coin in hand, the scribbles also aren't remotely close to anything in the scribbles guide. (...

It is a normal O mint mark.
I'm not familiar with 1899-O VAMs, so that's as much help as I can be.

Re: Original VW members

Date joined used to be shown with each member's basic I.D. information, but I think it was lost in the transition to VAM 2.0.

I seem to recall I was one of the first 4 or 5 to join.

Re: 1921-P VAM-3K1?

Yes, your coin is a VAM 3K1. The long, bold, slightly arcing vertical scribble on the outside of the eagle's leg nails the attribution.

Keep in mind that PL 1921-Ps basically never have any cracks, because the dies had not been used long enough for them to have developed.

Re: Need some Help with 1921 P D2 Please :)

weth and messydesk Boy, you guys are good! I also agree with 3FL. I totally couldn't match this coin's scribbles to the poor-ish photo in the scribbles guide, which barely shows the nice horizontal thing between speed bumps 3 & 4 seen in this thread. And 3FL isn't in the break guide, so that was no...
