Well, I received an NGC-61 78-S from EBAY last week. I couldn't figure the variety from the photos, so I took a chance (cheap BIN price). Anyway, in hand, I could not not find any obvious match. Thanks to some much needed help from Lewis Rosenbaum after exchanging emails, VAM 71 is confirmed. The VA...

ugly, if nothing else; I once owned an AU 55 that was far better looking; I would stay clear of this one

Re: 78p rev 79.. (NON-CLASHED) EDS of v229.1 ▪︎Rare?

Non-clashed is rare; that said, collector interest is probably low as the 78-P collector data base is relatively small and the EDS does not occupy a seat in the SSDC registry, so probably not a whole lot of added value. That said, I have one (ANACS XF-45) in my set and very proud of it, with thanks ...

Re: I just completed my 1878-CC set!

Yes, will probably look at the 78-CC GSA set some more; I have a few in that set. I still have lots of work to do in the 78-S set; a distant 3rd place in the SSDC registry with that one...

I just completed my 1878-CC set!

Another milestone complete; the 1878-CC is complete, thanks to my "Help Wanted" ad on the BST pages; currently #2 in the SSDC registry, but well behind the set from the individual that literally wrote the book on the subject. I will try to upgrade when I can of course...so the hunt continues!

For now, I will consider 22C & 22B one and the same, leaving another hole in my set that can't get filled...

Help Wanted!

Well, it's getting harder and harder to fill 1878 model year holes, so, I thought I'd run a help wanted ad. As for 1878-P, everything I need I ultra rare and probably outside the budget so I'll just keep my eye open for opportunities if / when they arise; but just in case need 4A, 14.11., 14.11A, 14...

So, what differentiates V80 & 80B, or is V80 just another empty nest?
