Interesting question on prooflikes in general
Now can a LDS of a particular Morgan vam/number/mintmark ever be prooflike/DMPL, or is it always EDS's that are prooflike? Or is it that a prooflike coin becomes less so with multiple coins struck on the same dies leading to an LDS stage? Reason I ask is the 1904-O (another thread) could be prooflik...

Re: Can't quite place this 1904-O vam, new vam perhaps?
Since it appears to be a LDS of vam-21, that could explain why some of the features of the webpage didn't match up with mine, other photos of the LDS may not have been observed by the original discoverer, therefore throwing me off a bit.

Re: Can't quite place this 1904-O vam, new vam perhaps?
Thanks guys, it indeed looks more like a vam-21, except I don't see the doubled 0 of the date, but everything else checks out for the obverse. Now the reverse has qualities of both dies :?: , and the pics of vam-30 show the die chips about the reverse motto but not on vam-21? Now to tekkie1 point, I...

Re: 1921 Denver Fun 'self-healer dies' Hypothesis:
Now this is interesting, as in regards to my just now posts on my 1904-O dollar, as in it matches some of the characteristics of the vam-30 series, but many of the pics on this site for this vam don't actually match my specimen, leading to a hypothetical EDS or VLDS of either this vam, or it could b...

Re: Can't quite place this 1904-O vam, new vam perhaps?
I relooked at vam-30 and such; it has several characteristics that don't match, like no die crack in the hair cap, no very light die scratch on the chin, and no small die scratches opposite eagles beak on the wing, or opposite the arrow shafts on the leaf, per the pics provided. Now the die chips at...

Can't quite place this 1904-O vam, new vam perhaps?
Up for viewing here is one I can't seem to accurately place, and looks prooflike on the reverse to me. It has a very tiny die scratch on the 2nd star to the left of the date, and a noticable die crack along um of unum down through the stars to the right. The pics of the reverse should help place thi...

Re: Got this 1963 klaes piece of history today
I know I have at least 3 of these varieties in my collection, the 1882-O/S vam-4, the 1888-O vam-4 hot-lips, and the 1900-O/CC vam-10, so I am always looking when I can.

Got this 1963 klaes piece of history today
This I got from my uncle today who does not deal in coins (of course I do) and he got this little book from one of his family friends who was a big time coin dealer who passed away a few years ago, and his family gave my uncle all his coin books, in which I got from my uncle. I found it rather incre...

1878-S vam-68 prooflike
Well, I just found this today...
I used two different lightings for this to try to capture the prooflikeness. I am just curious what vams in the 1878-S are prooflike, or is this descriptor kinda random regardless of vam?

Anybody know an ebayer with 1878-O Morgan?
On coincommunity, there is a thread about an ebayer with an obvious fake 1878-O Morgan dollar. It was last bidded at 4.25 and two bidders.

Possibly a silly question on Morgan dies
Just curious if there are any known Morgan dies from any mintmark 1904 earlier that survived? 1921 I guess could also count
Or were they all destroyed?

Anybody know a Wayne Miller?
Sometime ago, I picked up this nice silver dollar book, and it was signed by him, and has come to be useful at times. It is undated, but was published about 1982-1983.

If I were to guess, I'll guess 1888-O scarface EDS. Of course, it could be something quite different.

A lustrous 1904-P vam-3A
My main question on the few lustrous 04-P vams is if they were struck earlier in the year? I know that later that year, the quality (the luster especially) took a nosedive on the later vams if I understand right? I approximately grade it as an AU-58, unless it is weakly struck.

Yeah, me knows that vams are only for the morgans and peace dollars, I was just wondering futureistically and humorously.
