Re: Do you see what I see?

I discovered 1B. The non Leroy's photo on 1B page does not match the discovery coin.
So yes, the obverse of VAM-1B is different than your coin.
I can add some 1B photos later.

Re: Couple of SSDC registry issues

Brent
The 1879-S B Reverses Composition is missing VAM-39.
Also, please take a look at ssdc message board for 79s v99.
Thanks,

Re: 1879 s vam 35A rev of 78

On SSDC, 79s B rev slot #10 needs to be updated back to VAM-39 (not VAM-135) :D

Re: Roll Call

I was there Friday. Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you all. Was there to dropped off some coins to Anacs. In talking with Paul from anacs, he said Fogie cleaned the entire floor already, lol. I looked around a little bit, met and had a little chat with Kerry (the guy who put together Buena Park...

Based on the rotation, the marking you pointed out is impossible to be part of the "E".
Imo is just a scuffed.

Re: 1879S VAM 1h

I think you both (vamsterdam and Vam-mysterio) are correct. From what I can tell, the sequence of Reverse die use is: VAM-1D (ms60PL) - the reverse has no clashed mark and no polishing lines in the field. VAM-XX - this is the missing piece yet to be found VAM-1H (ms61PL) - the reverse has remnant of...

One of Lee's favorite. Part of a very short set, and this R7 ended up more like an R5.

Jonnie - in my opinion, what you have is VAM-7B. VAM-7 series really needs an overhaul. I have a 7A and 7D if anyone wants to borrow and get the entire series back to Leroy for his review.

Re: 1888-P VAM7 stage help, please?

Stage 1 (VAM-7) - has a nice a clear gouges above left wing up to UST. Stage 1.5 - I think this is your coin. Stage 2 (VAM-7A) - is what posted on VAM-7A page with the gouge lines added as describe on the page. Now the confusing part: Stage 3 (VAM-7B) - description on reverse: "Lines above eagle’s l...
