Re: 21-S VAM 35 - Zerbe
I personally like the 21S series This is a cool variety, and the end of JB's original post he stated " go find one" So I did, and wanted to update this thread. As far as all the Zerbe folklore I will leave that to those that know. But if John was excited about it is more than likely a Legit situati...

Re: 1883-O Branch Mint Proof Question- VAM11 or VAM19 die set used?
Welcome to VAMWorld! I verified that the 83-O BMP in Heritage's 2013 CSNS auction was a VAM 19.

Re: 1885-P VAM-??
Turns out this coin looks like a later stage 24A . Alligator eye not seen in auction pics. I posted a photo spread at SDP if anyone is interested in looking. There are other questions. Break to the left of the LIBERTY banner appears to have some displacement. Would this warrant a new listing? There...

Re: @bhinkle's scribbled 78P got me enjoying my 10A...
Cool variety! Those lines all over the field on 1878s aren't technically scribbles. I would call them "grit gouges", as they're likely from stray, oversized pieces of grit that got caught up in die polishing and did a number on the die. Scribbles are presumed to be intentional, targeting weakly hubb...

Re: New CAC TPG
I have issues with the design of their slab, but they're minor and will be worked out in time. The font is too narrow to be easily legible while walking by a table at a show. They should also choose a font that has Greek and Cyrillic sort l support if they are to ever do world coins. NFC verificatio...

Wow! Congrats on the crossover. That's tough enough in circulated grades.

Re: Interesting Seated Obstruction Error
You should have told PCGS to call it/them "Half and half". Then you could talk about the half half of half and half and the smaller half half.

Re: Guess the Grade, 1921 Peace PCGS Unattributed VAM 1H
Huge difference between Jody's coin and the OP coin, but a big part of that is the strike. Grading 1921 Peace dollars is like grading Buffalo nickels. You have to know what part of the missing detail is wear and what part is strike. Like Buffalo nickels and Walking Liberty halves, 1921 Peace dollars...

Well, if you can get a gold CAC sticker on it, then it'll be worth 64 money (because stickers

Is it online somewhere or just in the pops? NGC attributions have historically needed to be taken cum grano salis.

Re: Guess the Grade, 1921 Peace PCGS Unattributed VAM 1H
These are tough to grade from TrueViews with that flat lighting. This die pair tends to have an above-average strike, if I recall. I also keep coming back to the middle row of feathers across the wing looking like they're worn and not just weakly struck. The rims look nice, though, as they would on ...

Re: 1921-D JOH-25 Small Breaks D, S and S
The huge problem is, the 1921-D Die Crack Break Guide is horribly not up to date. Only 77 different VAMs are represented in it, out of the 228 that currently exist. I would like to try and help fix this somehow. Any ideas how I can contribute? I own 3 raw, circulated 1921-D that you folks have seen...
