Re: 1878-S Vam 11 Surprise

Leroy didn't have anything to do with the VAM-11 being thrown into the VAM-22.
Maybe Leroy's archives will have something useful about the VAM-11.

Re: 1878-s Vam 26 PCGS 55 mis-attributed ( actually Vam 57

I bid on this Long Nock V-57.
I may have made a mistake, but I thought the final price was a little bit high.
The bid of $1600 was okay but the 20% juice brought the price to $1920,

Re: Inventory Reduction Sale

I met with you two (Larry and Dave) and Allan a couple of times maybe ten years or so ago.
Last time I think was a place downtown STL nearby to Alan's work.
Would enjoy meeting with you again.
Is Alan now in Atlanta or Florida?

Revisions to 1900=O O/CC VAM-7, 7A, 10, and 10A

At the bottom of the VAMWorld description for 1900-O O/CC VAM-7, 7A, 10, and 10A is “Threads” that has clickable “1900 O/CC Revision Letter”. Clicking takes you to Leroy’s letter where he lists the revision to VAM7, 7A, 10, and 10A. Beneath the revisions he lists the revision for VAM-7 as it will ap...

78-S V-42B EDS

Russ James discovered the 78S V-42B in 2019.
Below is a photo of my V-42B EDS and a photo of my 42B.
The 42B EDS does not have the die scratch lines that the 42B has.
The 42B EDS does have the denticle impression marks that are on the 42B.

Re: Die Adjustment Strike ?

I do not have anything to weight the coin. The fields on the coin are semi-PL. When I tip and turn the coin to reflect the light I cannot see any change in the field above or below STATES, so there isn't any beveling. Yes, eagle's right wing tip is weak; much weaker than eagle's left wing tip. Denti...

Re: Die Adjustment Strike ?

I don't think this is a V-22A.
I don't see the notch on the inner bottom of the 3 of date.
I don't see the lines at the bottom of the Y of LIBERTY.
