I enlarged John's photo and was blown away. My head is still spinning. I can make out FOUR Long Nocks in Mint State, but there may be more. OMG!!

Here are photos I took of my 57. Can anyone tell which of the 5 die stages I have?
I tried to add a 6th photo, but apparently the new system won't allow more then 5?

There are 5 different die states for VAM 57??
Guess I'd better get mine out and shoot some pics. What do I need to look for?

I was watching the Heritage online auction this afternoon and was amazed to see the PCGS XF40 VAM 60 Long Nock go for $5,760 including buyers fee. I knew those are tough, but wow!
And Heritage didn't even have it listed as an 1878-S VAM 60... the title said 1878 VAM 60.

This thread is pretty complex for me to follow, but it did make me get my VAM 26 and take some photos. The 'dot' next to the 2nd left star was easy to find (although I'd never noticed it before). But what is going on in front of Liberty's eyeball... and what's that lump below it? VAM 26 stars.jpg VA...

There is currently nothing on the attribution page. LVA confirmed this VAM attribution in my latest batch to him.

I am having some really goofy issues with the site. If I'm on the page via the link, I can't get to the discussion board... all I get is a blank page. And I can't bookmark the page with a link to the attribution pages.

Are the attribution pages gone?

The SSDC pops are much different – 66 non-details VAM 9s are registered vs. 24 VAM 9As – but is that because of TPG attribution practices or is it reality? I notice, by the way, that VAM 9 has an R rating of 7 and 9A has a rating of 6.

Please share your thoughts and experience.

There's something I forgot to mention... both the left and right obverse stars are at least doubled, with the left stars moreso than the right.

I had hoped, Mitch, that when we migrated to the new platform we might see a kinder, gentler side of you.
But alas, my hopes have been dashed. I'm confronted with the harsh reality that it was just a foolish fantasy.
