Jodemyer Very cool man! Ya know I love this hobby , ,take any budget amount , say 6 grand is a nice number out there in space . A guy can buy one $6.000 dollar coin , or TEN , $600coins or one hundred $60 dollar coins . There are some multiple combinations involved in that example , but the point i...
New 1884 VAM 33 back from JB @messydesk (Thanks JB!!!) The VAM page is complete with lots of good photo's! (Again, thanks JB!)
@fogie could you add 1884 VAM 33 to the SSDC registry, when you get time?
Thanks everyone for your comments and help on this coin!
Don't know for sure ,It is just the closest thing I could find without having the coin in hand . Pretty sure the reverse is right, maybe a little later die state . However the obverse is not a 10 point match by any means ;) Screenshot 2023-10-23 222626.jpg Screenshot 2023-10-23 224900.jpg Screenshot...
The census in the SSDC registry is current. If you enter a coin - it is in the census quick as those electrons can do their thing. The "census" that can be found on some of the VAMworld pages - is NOT current. Other censuses - who knows! Hope this helps. VAMon I might add the new full date census f...
If you think about it, this raises an interesting conundrum. At least to me it does. If this work by Leroy happened at the beginning of 1979, then is it possible that any early 1900 to 1904 VAM listings prior to 1979 could have actually been a C4/C3 reverse but listed as a C4 or C3? As such, I am a...
It matches what is on that v 19 page pictures .. there is also an interesting comment on the v 22 page about hub doubling on this year . not sure if any of this is conclusive though???
addition photos for v 19 look a lot like your left edge base of 1 . you might need an expert not sure either one of them is really a 19 though , the 19a date is more normal than very near
and I think it would take a little better look inside of the 6 and the eagles left wing . along with the date position . I can't find a match for your cracks either . bu that does not mean anything
Obverse die looks a little bit like a v 8.2 to me maybe , but not clue on the reverse. k I'll take that back , after blowing that picture up some more . good luck JB
This thread reminds me of something I wanted to ask you guys . Has anyone ever sent "An Over graded" Coin back to challenge their guarantee? I just want to know if it turned out to be more hassle than it was worth ?https://www.ngccoin.com/coin-grading/ngc-guarantee/
Thanks everybody! I will try and post photos from the other discovery and former "dubious listing" coins soon. Just wanted to thank you . AND the same goes to everyone involved in making the catalogue more accurate. It really is paramount to someone coming into this hobby in the eleventh hour . :po...
