The cheek is baggy but the fields are in great condition. The only issue on this coin is a light scratch across the cheek. I tried to get a picture that would show it (last picture).

Only comparison I could find (because dmpl vam 79’s are so rare) was an ngc selling in 2017 for 1292.50.

Selling on eBay...only “cameo” dmpl vam 79 in any grade graded by anacs. Auction on eBay starting bid is 100, accepting offers until first bid.

I have a recently graded Anacs 1878 Vam 79 Cameo DMPL MS 63. I am having a hard time trying to figure out value. Anacs population report says they have one Cameo DMPL Vam 79 in all grades (My 63). I also looked at every vam on VAMWorld and could not find a matching vam which is the reason for the many pictures. Let me know what you think. Thank you for your help.

Those hairlines you see on the right stars are no where else on the coin but the mirrors are deep everywhere.

The portion of the coin you see polishing (Cleaning) on is on the right stars only the rest of the coin does not appear to be cleaned at all. My guess is whoever polished the right stars and right field only was trying to get the rust and pitting on the coin out no realizing it was minted that way. ...

I just got this 1897 P that looks to be PL or DMPL, I cannot determine the Vam. There are die polishing lines all over the coin.
