Re: CACG Launch
About time for this new venture to shake up the current setup of Good Ol Boys IMHO Unlikely to be any different. Human behavior historically suggests it'll have large negative consequences (aggressive survivalistic and territorial jockeying) as well as some positive outcomes, but it'll be unlikely ...

Re: 1901 0:VAM 26, VAM 32
Could be a 26 with an undescribed collar clash (as well as the radial die break)? Not a 32 b/c the mm is not set high or tilted right?

Is there a suggested way to volunteer for a die study with somone? I'd be willing... but being able might pose an issue for me. I'd be open to trying to make it work, though.
Thanks again John^2...

Re: 1896-P VAM-11, 17 or other? Help needed, please
Unless someone does a die study of this date, it's really just like kicking mud in the water. The variety is defined as a near date with weak doubling on top of the 6. The reverse was not noted as being remarkable. Until there is a detailed die study we don't actually know if there's only one obver...

Thanks, John. Understand. The potential PUPs on the reverse not enough to warrant future looks. If this is the case, might/should I add pictures onto the variety page to help others learn the same info?

If the choice was between 11 and 17, I would say 11. It has a lot of markers that match up based on your photos. When I get time I will investigate other options. My opinions are that of a less experienced VAM person than most on this forum. Thanks, mate. I wished there were a choice but as I see i...

Re: 1900 O VAM?
The 'px' digit desingations are a nice attempt to objectively measure the potential slant, but they are not really meaningful to most of us. In addition to that type of precision being way beyond historical means/approaches, it doesn't necessarily fit the description of 'within normal tolerance' (i....

I'll hand it to the sellers... If someone (a buyer) is stupid enough to believe these grades, they are willing participants in an age-old reality: Thomas-Tusser-Fool-Money-Soon-Parted.jpg NOTE: This is from a PCGS certified $100 that I'm selling... for the bargain price of $5299.99. And some reverse PUPs that might align with the VAM-11... or not. 1896-P VAM-11, 17 or other? Help needed, please
Hi all, Thankfully not many to chose between, but I'm stuck because there isn't a lot of informaiton to go on. I believe this is either an 11 or 17 based on general descriptions. Any help/thoughts/guidance would be appreciated. First, FCPs: 1896PVunkn_L25_GRed_FCO.jpg 1896PVunkn_L25_GRed_FCR.jpg I s...

Thought I'd seen something that my 'experience' said "Nah... nothing of note..." Only to have it come back to teach me a lesson. Thought I'd share it with you. Would you understandably think this in the nostril as not much to note and misread the bit just below the nose and on her upper lip as poten...
