1878-S VAM-69 Add Pictures and Comments to Page Please When I see attributes on a coin that are not listed on its VAM page I tend to want to point them out to others so they don’t waste time chasing a ‘discovery’. I think a VAM’s page should be as comprehensive as we can make it and this won’t add t...
I have the same issue with many VAMs. The original discovery coins list some, but not all, points of interest. The CC below from the Page shows doubling and the lighting isn't best.

As mentioned before your coin took a few hits too.
Thanks! that is it. I had looked at VAM-28 several times but dismissed it since the doubling in the 7 was not in the description or picture. The 8 doubling is minor but the 7 was as obvious as the 9s doubling on my coin. I have a later die state as the 3rd star right on the page FCP is only slightly...

1879-S Alligator Eye, Doubled Date, Closed 9, Engraved Leaves, S/S left, Set Low, Need Help Reverse of 1879 (Slanted Arrow Feather, Round Breast) I need help with this one. I went through every doubled date and doubled 79 on the page without any luck, then went down the slanted arrow feather list lo...
MM location is slightly different for your pics as show below. The VAM-38 page states for Comment 1: This obverse shared with VAM-9, VAM-10, and VAM-38. Since we know the first submission was a VAM-38 only two choices are left for the second coin. Unfortunately VAM-9 has no MM pic. However, VAM-10 h...
Some of the pictures above with the red lines do not match what "The Book" says to do. Page 116 of "Comprehensive Catalog and Encyclopedia of Morgan & Peace Dollars" 1991 shows and describes the inside "Position Guides" differently. Rather than repeat the entire section I am quoting where the inside...
I agree! Using the same number for different die pairs since they have a common attribute, like "Low Date" is confusing at best for newcomers and sometimes frustrating for those that have been at this for years. It also doesn't help to determine population and often ignores some very interesting die...
REVERSE: My coins match the die break from D to wing to rim and laurel leaf to wing to S as seen in the Occ FCR and page pics, however the laurel leaf to wing to S is not yet developed on the RonH Coin and Plate FCR. 1897-P V11 Misaligned die rev pinch A031 - 20220622_195638.jpg 1897-P V11 misaligne...

Based on die wear this VAM-11 is a later die state than the two RonH FCP on the page, both of which are well centered. The Acc version does show some die migration but not nearly as much as this one. I am trying to figure out if the obverse die was loose and retightened off center or if it was remov...
