Re: My 1A3 Terminal Break

Here is one I did a long while back, even before the 1A4 was listed. Not the best of coins. Russ could probably put together a much better set of progression photos. Ignore the "stage" numbers as they were just references to the coins in my collection at the time. That's it! THANKS for posting it A...

Re: My 1A3 Terminal Break

Thanks for all the comments.
I remember back VW 1.0 days someone posted a series of pics showing the progression of the dome break. I thought I had saved that set of pics but I cannot find it on my computer. Anyone still have that?

My 1A3 Terminal Break

I purchased this 1891-O VAM 1A3 awhile back and put it to the side (without looking at it) & somehow forgot about it. I recently picked it back up and saw just how big the dome break is on the reverse. It is by far larger than my other 1A3 dome breaks I have. It has to be close to the end of this di...

Re: HELP PLEASE

Here is an old VAMview article from 2005 that I think will still apply today and answer your question. It is on pages 8 and 9.

It looks to be a large undertaking. I appreciate the effort involved. There are many great threads to read and much VAM knowledge to be found on VAMworld 1.0.

Cool choice. This one doesn't always get a lot of attention but when I saw one on the bay a long time ago, I bought it. Its in a PCGS 64 holder. She's a beauty. You can still find these in high grades.

Re: 1883 O VAM 1C1 or 1C2?

Thanks for all the replies. It is VAM 1C1 as it matches the obverse die lines in the hair. Interesting VAM though. The faint "M" clash is more like a phantom "M" clash. I don't think it could be used as a pup. It seems like as soon as it changed obverse dies, the second clash happened. I have 5 exam...

1883 O VAM 1C1 or 1C2?

Cherrypicked this beauty on the cheap from the bay. I was thinking it to be the VAM 1C2 but has only the single clash on the eagle's right wing. I can faintly see a "M" clash on reverse above "D" in God but my question is, Is it a 1C1 or 1C2? Does it have to be double clashed to be the 1C2, since on...

Re: Just a Sexy 37A1...

Nice looking 37A1! That looks even better than my PCGS 65 37A1. Also, a question. I seem to remember someone saying that the 37A1, or was it A2, was a big deal or something a few years ago. A little before my time.. It was one of the coins heavily talked about for the year. Maybe early teens or late...

Re: In need of 83-O expert... New pair?

It looks to be a C3a reverse. With so many 83-O VAMs without pics, it might be more difficult to attribute. This one might be up to the experts.

Re: UNICORN CHIMAERA

Lee, it was a twofer on my first try with Mhomei & you helping me. I look at my 1880 O VAM 78 as my first discovery with the 1N3 as my second. I've included the pic of the letter from Leroy.

Can't wait to read the article Roger. I have the 2016 1N3 discovery that Leroy listed when he separated the 1N into the 1N1, 1N2 & 1N3. If you need to examine my 1N3, your are welcome to it.
