Re: LVA Package Question

LVA is always loaded down after the supplement time .. Just slow down LVA will get it done.. It took pcgs 4mo to get a bulk submission done . I have no faith or trust in the post office. I was just asking if anyone received their March submission back yet to see if I need to be concerned about a po...

Re: LVA Package Question

Has anybody gotten back their March submissions yet? I am at 7 weeks since he picked it up from the post office (and cashed my check) and am getting a little antsy. Is there a time limit for filing claims with the post office if it had been mailed and met with an unfortunate end?

LVA Package Question

I sent a package to Leroy the third week March. He cashed my check on March 23. Since then, nothing. At what point would it be acceptable for me to reach out by email to ask whether he had shipped it back yet? I am concerned about it disappearing while in the possession of the USPS. Has anyone else ...

Re: 1926 S (not) Long (enough) Spike and Nub

I am in the don't send it camp, too. Just double checking myself. The coin is probably VF/XF, so if there was heavy file lines that could have evidenced a double clash, they are gone now. There may be a higher grade example out there that would either allow for attribution of a known VAM or would be...

Re: 87p v13A... Eagles beak transfer to obverse?

Thanks JR. Ray, it is possible. Aside this, and Dan's 64D clashed dies where he intentionally clashed them incredibly hard, he then clashed them once more and struck 4 as a finally, of which I own one. Also, think of the "Talon-head" clash on the 71 P&D Ikes.. That's the clash that changed my think...

Re: 1926 S (not) Long (enough) Spike and Nub

Thanks, John. I did not think that the nub would be enough, but since I am still new to the Darkside, I figured that I would defer to more experienced folks.

1926 S (not) Long (enough) Spike and Nub

So I found this 26-S with a mid-length single spike, but next to it is what can best be described as a nub. Perhaps it was an earlier clash spike that was polished away, leaving just the base of the spike. Anyway, I don't have the new Supplement yet and could not find a match for this, so I am vetti...

Re: Leroy Spanking Stories

I expect a gentle spanking for sending a polished coin. The polishing at least does not impair the heavy file lines in the hair gap of this particular 26S. I would not have sent it if I could have found another example... You have to play the hand you're dealt!

Re: 87p v13A... Eagles beak transfer to obverse?

I don't think that it is physically possible for a recessed area on one die to transfer to a recessed area on the other. To do so would require such a powerful strike that much more of the images of both sides wou I'll d transfer to the other. I just don't see that here.

Re: It's Finally In-Hand... Is It a New E Discovery?... Muahaha...

Ant, you should get credit for one kill for the duplicate listing you found on the 1889 1D1 and the 1G. Chiefret. was the discoverer of the 1G. We met up at the ANA show to examine our two discovery pieces and we confirmed that his 2017 1G Discovery was the same as my 2007 1D discovery(now 1D1). I a...

To me, it looks like it could be a lamination on the obverse. I like it!
