Re: returns from last VSS Bulk to PCGS

And here I thought I was the one that would be on JBs naughty list  😎 He made my nice list by having all the coins sorted by date and VAM. Had they all been unattributed 21s, 80-Ss or 81-Ss, he'd be on my naughty list and not posting results until probably next summer.  We'll get ...

Re: 1880 VAM 11A

Nice find and I have to agree with JC, I tend to see 11A way more than 11, too. I just came across a raw 11A last night in a recent collection purchase. So this was something you bought a while back and decided to VAM? Boy do I miss those days. Everything nowadays, for me anyway, seems so "processey...

Wow @rogerg I have a semi-PL (that should have gone PL) v6 in PC64, and in 4 they get expensive. A 6 must carry quite the premium 😎

Hey walt, I sure know how much you like good deals lol. I do have something right up your alley, a real "steal." Its Christmas so why not  πŸŽ„πŸŽ ...How about a rare E-clasher. The 1889-o VAM 20A in PCGS au58 with VSS sticker? A couple 55's recently sold on Ebay for $400-500. I can find no rece...

Re: difference between die scratch and die gouge?

Squirrel summed it up well. It was something that confused me at first too until I assumed basically what Rob said above. It does suck when you have something like that and try doing a quick keyword search to try to nail it down. Oh, and you'll never forget that one now. I always quickly check the e...

Re: 1882-O Could this be my ticket to fun in Fla.?

Yeah, not a "CC" as I suspected that was what you were thinking given the look of the coin and the way you phrased your post. The good news is that it probably did spend a lot of time in a Saddle bag or leather wallet or the like. That glossy sheen and almost dryer coin type wear is what you would e...

Cap tip? Honestly, I've never thought about it. Figured it was just part and parcel of the cap fold area. As-in "above cap fold" area.

With that level of sophisticated taste, it's not just the work of Cookie Monster, it's probably Alistair Cookie.

My new Peace GSA... ex-Cookie Monster

With that recent post about Peace GSA's and me realizing I don't have one yet then this one crossing my path I figured why not for $50 bucks. Sure, it's just a torn soft pack, but it sure does look like someone was hungry which I think adds a little bit of extra character, maybe I'm nuts? Any ...

Re: Monster grade, super-PQ 80s HELP please.. Possible VNA page coin ..Should be easy, grrrr

I'm not sure that the S is repunched. That could just be some unpolished slop from the center of the punch. That thought did occur to me, the "thing" inside the lower loop is what gave me pause as it appears more vertical like a baby gouge but the upper loop appears to have that typical "fang" we s...
