Re: New VAM-e by Leroy

Leroy's focus was on the RPM itself and why it looks the way it does. The obverse isn't part of the story he's bringing to light. The VAM 4 is much easier to find and is availible in mint state. Both VAM 4 and 28 are well represented in AU grades Thanks JR. I was pretty sure I've come across nice o...

Nailed it Mitch. Thanks! Curious why Leroy omitted the severe beveling. Strange. It should at least be mentioned on the page to direct keyword searches to the page. And Iif anyone wants to migrate any of these pics or link this thread feel free :)

Re: 81o w/ Heavily Beveled Liberty Bust

Thanks Loren. 16 is a no match. If figured it might be clash removal but I've never seen this kind of clash removal / beveling to this extent. Lee, I've seen it before, not necessarily 81o but every one I've seen is maybe the top of the cap or maybe the hair V. But nothing to this extent and the onl...

81o w/ Heavily Beveled Liberty Bust

Hey guys. Can anyone help out on this one. Check out all the beveling at top of cap, profile, neck/chin V and the cap V. Look familiar to anyone? I'm coming up snake eyes. Thanks :)

Neat for what it is. Although I've heard there's a similar one out there. An authentic 89 v23A but the reverse punch was changed out to "ASS"

UNIQUE 1890cc "Tailbar"

Hey guy, I'm trying to build up my buying funds for LB. I absolutely LOVE this piece but I know someone here may cherish and want it more. It's a Tailbar in a period era contemporary sterling folderover bezel. It had to be put in there sometime in the 1890s-1900s imo. Anyway, feel free to PM me with...

Re: 86O E Clasher

Sexy VAM ron. Too bad about the swipe hairlines on obv but its the rev that matters anyway 8-)

Also, curious what this means -'"the grade of this coin will determine it would qualify as a V-1A2."- why would the grade determine which VAM she is?

Re: I FINISHED the Kimpton 12 set

Man I'd love to dive into actually completing a nice set run but the temptation to sell as a whole or break it up and sell off individually after a year or two would be too much, probably.

JB, on a separate and specific issue. The 21 Peace v1F1 page didnt migrate. I'm guessing we'll be coming across blank pages here and there that were missed?

Re: OT -- visit old Carson City Mint

If you're just interested in coins then maybe half hour to an hour depending on how long you stay at each display and if Ken is striking silver CC commems on the original press or not. However, if you'd like to tour the whole museum -which I HIGHLY suggest- it would take 1-2 hours on average again d...

Re: my new 1903-O has character!

Super coin Dennis! I like my VF 20 but a 66, thats a whoa too! About the "gouges" at ONE, are they gouges or polishing lines? The term seems to be interchangeable for the feature depening on the date/VAM. Just something I've been wondering for a while.

So, if true, does that mean that every v60 would technically be a filled die striking error with missing non-device elements? :? :o

I'm a go of course. We already have a list and order though right? So all we need is to reinstate the list order and add any 2.0 newbies to the rotation just like we always have. Or am I missing something?

Re: Clash question

Huh. Never really thought about that. I'm sure this has absolutely no bearing to your specific question but it reminds me of the Talon-Head clashed Ikes. Specifically the D mint ones which are much more rare due to, apparently, Denver having an auto-shutoff function that shut off the press if it det...
