There were some safety issues that put the kibosh on Punkin Chunkin, if I recall.

Neat 79p Error... S/T?

This just came in in a lot of junk dollars. Looks like someone assumed it was a VF due to the weak obverse strike and black irridecence. But as you can see the reverse is fully struck BU. And the reeding is full and deep. The surfaces, though, are sexy, creamy and near PL. Thought I'd show it off an...

80o v74... odd feature

Hey guys, came across this girl that I have as v74. But, what is this very localized (3 spots) doubling I've highlighted? Very strong on 2 berries and one leaf. Coin looks fairly EDS and PL. Is it a strange manifestation of die polishing? It does not quite look like typical hub doubling or MD. She a...

If you like face pitting start looking at 83p's. I swear that 80-90% of the the ones I come across have extreem pitting from fine to coarse on liberty's head/neck. So much so that it's a strong obverse mint diagnostic for me.

Re: 85p with MANY Threadlikes

Thanks guys. Leroy it is! I'll bet he'll be happy to see this feature on such a gorgeous hogh grade BU PL coin. I hadn't come across the 81p v17 before and didn't know about condensation impressions. To me, being so thin, small and plentiful I assumed it was something like a random patch of rag lint...

85p with MANY Threadlikes (UPDATE: Back From LVA)

Hey guys. I could use some help on this one. This is the most threadlikes I've seen on a single die (a patch of multiple small ones in the cap. ) I've gone down the list and even disregarding the threadlikes I'm coming up dry. Leroy pile? Or did I miss it? Thanks! Disregard the "holder" 201807...

Re: 1928-P Super Pick

I'm pretty sure the dealer thought it was a 23. I've had 2 dealers both look at a 23 thinking it was a 28 when it clearly wasn't. This is just the reverse side of that. "Its a cruddy 23, throw it in the bucket." I'd bet money that's what happened.

78s.. II 15 obv, not v83

Hey guys. I have a 78s with the II 15 obverse but the reverse isn't quite matching up. The listing says the II 15 was "used for many pairings" but does not link or list which VAMs they are. Can someone point me to which are the known pairings with the II 15? Thanks! http://www.vamworld.com/1878-S%20...

Very nice. I cherrypicked my 32A in an NGC 63 slab that upgraded to PCGS 64. You just cant beat that reverse!

Awesome Lee. Thanks. This is now my second error 3o2 as my huge halfway-cracked planchet is also a 3o2. The beginnings of a new short set?
