I honestly think you messed up. That thing would have sat until he got pissed enough to list it for less than it auctioned for. Here's to hoping you let the world know how he operates when the time comes to leave feedback...

Is your coin clashed? The clashed "st" is what the 17a is actually listed for, but I'm not sure you'd ever find a 17a that isn't actually a 17b...
If yours doesn't have the clashed st or the U die break you have a VAM-17.

I'm honestly surprised that this seller even got the attribution right. He has another "VAM-20" listed and has sold an 88-O "VAM-1a" that looks dubious to me as well as a 91-P "doubled ear clashed n" (assumed to mean v2b) that doesn't seem to have a doubled ear or any clashing...
