Peace Dollar Help 1924 P

I picked this up today, as the number was right and I have never seen a 1924 with the shear number of "scribbles" all over the Obv and Rev. and they are super strong. This coin has a beveled rim by the date like the V-1BN but that listing as no mention of the massive and deep polishing lines in the ...

Well when it rains ir pours 1878 8 tf

I picked this up this week, an its the first one I have ever seen and looks to be a solid AU-58 /55 VAM-14.1 no clash at all, and not a post polished die pair as well OHHHH By The Way, if you have an 1878 P VAM 14.1 in the SSDC registry. Please look at your coins, the registry shows a large number o...

Re: Guess the 1901-P grade

The photos below are of a Prior PCGS graded EX-45 that I broke out and plan on sending it out for regrade. My opinion is that the graders are so use too seeing a nice Philly strike that they hit 1901 coins hard. Add the sunken reverse die and then they get even worst.

Re: It's Finally In-Hand... Is It a New E Discovery?... Muahaha...

Post Mint damage 100% If it was the trumpet of the E its facing the wrong way by about 80 degrees and if its the backbone its off by about 140 degrees. A good way to look at where and how an E Clash will look is this. Take a photo of the reverse of an 1891 O V-1a1 Look at where the neck clash in rel...

Re: Guess the 1901-P grade

1901 P coins all have strikes that are like early 1882 O mint coins, and are not anywhere like most other P minted coins. The grading curve on them and how TPG companies look at them is hypocritical at best. I can take this coin below and put it next to 20 or 30 mixed dates dollars from every mint a...

Re: It's Finally In-Hand... Is It a New E Discovery?... Muahaha...

Yes I have the 1888O VAM-1a1 that's the no break E Clash as well as the 1891 O VAM-1a4 and the 1886 O VAM-1a2 BER and the T clash in the Hair vee. So to your question "Yes" I have 3 of them! :D The single clashed VAM-1a1 currently has 2 known MS examples and the Late die state VAM-1a2 multi or 7 cla...

Re: Guess the 1901-P grade

Dennis here is my XF 45 in a 1901 P and yes it seams that both grading companies are employing the SL&L because XF coins should not have the kind of luster found on yours or mine!

Re: It's Finally In-Hand... Is It a New E Discovery?... Muahaha...

I have had the E Clash scratch on my retina for some time now. The location is everything! the tilt and angle have to be dead on, and if you have to have more than 2 photos showing it.....then its not present. if you only use 1 photo and put 3 arrows pointing at what your talking about its "REALLY N...

Re: Guess the 1901-P grade

Denis I think if its PCGS its an XF 40 and if its an Other its an XF 45. I am holding an XF 45 in hand that looks better than this on in 45 :)

Re: Name this Vam???

For the people that have not ever seen an early die state of the 1921 S V-15E, the difference between an EDS and the some what run of the mill V-15 E is mind blowing. Forget how rare the EDS really is, its the depth of the "I" clash that is utterly amazing. This is also compounded by 1 HUGE FACT.......

Re: New 1901 P WOW Coin that should be Tops

Yes the coin is on its way to PCGS and Yes it is a problem free Uncirculated coin that I looked over with a 20 power loupe. This type luster is the same as on the other 2 VAM-20's I have in PCGS 53 and 58. The coin has no broken lusted, albeit the coins luster looks dead unless you catch the light a...

Re: PCGS AU PL's and AU + Grades

I have an 1886 O V1a2 in PCGS 58+ as well. The coin is a MS-60/61 and I think its worth sending in to someone other than PCGS to have it graded for what it is, as the value swing is about 140%
