Re: 1878 P VAM-134 EDS No Polishing lines

The seller had bought a lot of coins from a guy that ...was less than honest over the years. The guy was sold some key dates as Unc and MS coins that where AU wiped and crap like that. The guy sent in what he thought was the Best stuff, so the ones that did grade where ………. well not treated well! He...

Re: 1878 P VAM-134 EDS No Polishing lines

This one has No polishing and looks more like a DMPL than the PL designation given. It is graded MS-62 PL, and in hand looks way better than the grade.

1878 P VAM-134 EDS No Polishing lines

Really Broken 1921 D Help Please

Below is a 1921 D that I had VAM 1P3 in my flip. I cant Find VAM-1p3 in the VAM Listings. At first glance the reverse looks like a VAM 19 a or somewhere in the progression, it's not. I have run thought the die crack guilds and cant find this one. Big OB pick up point is s break running thought the S...

Re: 78s v18a pops

The VAM-18 seems to be the rarest of the 2 types and the amount of "Art Work" done in both of the Eagles wings is remarkable. The semi PL MS-62 has more contact marks but the devices have some frosted contrast that highlights the Re-Detailing of the die. I mis-spoke I have a MS-62 and 63 in the V 18...

Re: Back from Leroy 4 NEW 1878 Varieties W/ 2 new 8 TF

I would agree with that, and is what I thought would happen. I did point out the feeder finger gouges when I sent it in, and was a little shocked when he divided them up into 3. Should a now 14.2 show up it will be extremely rare. Again I urge everyone in the SSDC to look at there 14.2a coins to see...

Re: Back from Leroy 4 NEW 1878 Varieties W/ 2 new 8 TF

The official listings are VAM-14.2 VAM 14.2a and VAM-14.2b From what I have from Leroy is that as the VAM-14.2 is the last usage of the reverse die, and non of the earlier pairings have the feeder finger gouges thought the "O" of OF, a coin must have been minted without the gouges. I am sure the VAM...
