Sorry This coin is Not getting Dipped
Well it seems like a TPG service is bagging coins of color just to catch up with there back log. I have recently bought 3 BB coins with extremely light toning on the rims of coins, and then we have this one seen below. I will be bringing this one to FUN to get other opinions as well. SO as fair Warn...

Re: Well here is a Missing VAM from the SSDC Registry
I just looked at the listing from the discovery and it states its the only one. It looks like there are to others but this one looks to be the only type with no reverse clash marks present. You can see clearly that this die pair was re-worked to remove clashing on both sides.

Re: Well here is a Missing VAM from the SSDC Registry
Here you are, It is a VAM-1d and the coin carries clear reflection to about 10 inches or so on both sides with an extremely strong strike and creamy devices

Well here is a Missing VAM from the SSDC Registry
Well I bought this a few weeks back as something just did not make sense. Well its an 1879 S with a strong ST clash and the coin looks DMPL and Should PL I would think but I cant be sure. I just got back an 1879 S that you can clearly read off the coin from 9 inches on both sides that did not make t...

1878 P VAM-81 RAW Stand OUT DMPL
Folks this coin is being sent back to the seller as it has a light wipe in the field on the rev. It vary well could and should grade but its present. But this coin is a Nut DMPL and then some. I looked in the SSDC registry and from what I could see this is the deepest mirrored example. Anyway I won ...

1878 P 7 TF help Please
OK here are 4 photos. We have a Broken 4th star and a small opening in the nose and a "Really Strong Pregnant Broken P" The reverse is a Open O and what looks to be a repaired R but it also could be an Un Broken R. The Broken star and open O puts it in the VAM 180's or 140's kind of, but I cant find...

The first coin is one of 4 MS-64 coins and they basically look about the same! The second coin looks much better in hand than the photo, and it...

Extremely early 1878 S VAM-5 No Doubled Letters
Well this just came in the mail today. Its an 1878 S VAM 5 with out question as it has "some" of the pick up points. This coin also looks to have a cracked plancet that is runs from field to field in an arch that is not a staple scratch. The coin is in a PCGS MS-64 PL holder. Why do I think its an E...

Re: Few Better Picks Today!
Well the 1880 P is an EDS of the VAM-16, here is a photo of the date. It looks like the "0" has remnants of a "9" over it as well, but that could be seeing tree bark and not the tree.

Few Better Picks Today!
Well today started running around for a friend of my sons, and I then stopped in a B&M for less than 15 minutes. I bought 3 coins, the first being what I thought was an XF 1878 P VAM-166! "Darn it", it has an open "O" so its a VAM-165 The next coin is a stone cold original 2 sided toners 1880 P with...

I would agree the die is the die as well. This VAM is not found often in grades where they are easily viewed, was the point of the post.

This one looks to be a circulated PL coin. It has a bunch of strong polishing lines in the fields on the reverse

1878 P 8tf 14.5 More than a single gouge
I was sent this coin in to get it graded, and before I shipped it I looked at it really close. The Gouge that runs thought the "A" in STATES is far more than 1 gouge, and is really neat!
