Re: I had a fun gold morning!!

First you get to make selfies with a very attractive lady with pink ears! Then you get to look a lot of really cool coins!

I should be so lucky?

Happy Easter to All!

Re: 1881-S with Obv. Field Break or Lamination? Vam?

Thanks again, Chris. I am learning little by little. I've only been collecting Morgans a few years and just started trying to figure out these VAMs. It is a real challenge and a lot of fun. Vamworld is a great community and a great place to learn. I enjoy the fussin, fighten, and general BS, too. I ...

Re: 1881-S with Obv. Field Break or Lamination? Vam?

Chris, Thanks for taking time to look. I agree the first pic makes it look like a stain, but with the coin in hand and looking thru a loop, the metal looks the same and seems to be slightly raised near to her face. The second picture(which is a poor excuse for a picture) shows this a little better. ...

1881-S with Obv. Field Break or Lamination? Vam?

This is a 1881-S NGC MS65. I believe it is a Vam 9? but there is a die break in the field from the hair above the forehead down by her nose. There is also a die crack from the hair above the eye, through the eye and down to the back of the nose. The 8's have die chips and are doubled. There is sligh...

1882-CC Vam 3D-Need Conformation Please

Picked this 1882-CC NGC MS63 at a local shop recently. I believe I am correct in saying it is a 3D-III2 3 C3a. Although it is said to be more common than first thought, being new at VAM's , I was pleased to have found it.

Re: Why does the obverse have more scrapes and marks than the reverse?

Thanks RogerB. As you say, it is a common observation and being sort of new at this, it helps to answer one more of my Morgan questions.

Re: Is there a vam world price Guide

Only been here a short while and have no credibility but the whole thing in this day and time is it is all about the money. I think it would be great to have guide lines but when the day ends we are all going to pay what our heart or ego tells us. I've got a bucket full of coins that I thought were ...

Can you tell how many ears this one has? I'm missing a one eared squirrel. Never know what popeye might fry. If it is him should be his attribute?

1st post_ 1st Question

Recently caught the VAM bug. Started noticing things on my Morgans and it doesn't take long! I found a 1884-O VAM 37A2 in my collection and need a little help with the raised area on the left side of the right wreath end. I have noticed it on other coins' but haven't found and explanation. Could som...
