Re: 1896-O VAM 20?

Here is my two cents. You seem to be caught in VAMatory. Keep in mind that multiple die pairs may exist. Not a VAM-16. Not a VAM-24, although some V24s seem to have a doubled 1 under the top crossbar. The VAM-29 is listed with a III2-12 obverse die. This is the same as VAM-16, but likely based on ba...

Definitely looks like something "slid" during the coining process.

Re: Anyone Recognize This?

"Balance Beam" isn't bad. How about "Diving Board"? The gouge is about 5/32" long if I measured it correctly. Won't match the 03-O V22 gouge length apparently.

Re: Anyone Recognize This?

No clash on this coin. It is kinda neat. More to come when Leroy is back in business.

Anyone Recognize This?

Since Leroy is on hiatus and I can't send this to him right now, I thought I would ask if anyone recognizes the two reverse die markers. It is a late date Morgan, but to dissuade the Out-Leroy temptation, I can't divulge the date and/or mint. It is a grade rarity Morgan. This example is in PCGS AU58...

Re: Group Question. We all have that one...

I have 5 1902-O VAM-45As and have passed along at least 5 more to others. I also have 8 1902-O VAM-26As. For some reason I can;t pass on either one of these when I see them.

Truth be told Rob, I didn't stump for it at all. I just wanted to see if anyone would take notice. It is all good.

Re: A Dozen VAMs for 2020

Gotta luv the 1902-O VAM-45A. Should have been a WOW coin.

The 1903-O VAM-22 is nice to see on the list. But I am biased. Wish I could have been there :o

Nice PUP Chris. A little bit of VAM history. As far as the nails go, they look fine to me, but what do I know?

Re: What's Going on at the FUN?

Having the Orlando house remodeled right now as we speak. I will be able to make FUN again likely starting in 2022. "Maybe" 2021 (next year). Is a lot of FUN and camaraderie. Only downside is a LOT of VAMmers going over the bourse inventory. The Early Birds usually win, but not always.

As I recall when doing a die study, they are common and not hard to find.

Re: What's your favorite acquisition of 2019?

A bit off topic, but upon further review, my best acquisition of this past year is my granddaughter, Penelope. She is the one on the right. The other two are old acquisitions. All 3 are in Orlando, which is where I am at. Gotta skedaddle back to St. Louis to make a living before the FUN show, as usu...

Mine was the 1903-O VAM-22 DC. The first OMG VAM listing by Leroy.

Minor Irritation

Has anyone else noticed this? The word "index" in the tag line at the top of the the VW2.0 Discussion Forums Page should be "Index", shouldn't it? It just distracts me every time I look at it :ugeek:

Re: pic for 1902-OVAM54

That does belong to the V54. The major doubled ear for V54 is a one & done marker. But this feature on the 2 in the date repeats. I tired to upload it to the page, but will need help.
