If you can't see the "E" it is not VAM 1B.
It gets tougher the lower the grade of the coin when looking for these reverse "E's". Hope you find one someday.

I would even add 1884-O VAM 30A. I used to own this VAM but sold it recently. It had the cap clash on the obverse even. An earlier die state of the clash may show the E better.

There is a page on VAMworld for phantom E's. If you type in "phantom E" in the upper right "search VAMworld" box, the page will show up.

Appreciate all the responses. I am observing one with about 7-8 degree rotation. I just never seen one in the 04-O series and wondered if it was catalogued before. Thanks guys!

Are rotated dies of 5 degrees or more in the 1904-O series known?

Have you looked at VAM 62? If that's not it, try to sort by reverse design or date using the attribution guide above the listings.

Sorry to hear this. I am sure they will show up somewhere as most people will not know what they have and will want to sell it quick. I would also notify local pawn shops if it was stolen locally from your Canadian post office. Will keep a look out for ya though.
