I'll just guess things are working properly.
Immediately after sending an email, I would check the sent box and the message didn't appear.
Thanks all, I learn something new every day.

If it helps with the diagnosis, I haven't been able to log in from this page ( for a long time.)
I have to go to a specific discussion and log in to leave a reply.

Re: 1904-O Series Question
It has been some time since I've seen one with a dramatic rotation, and now wish I had bid higher on it. I haven't seen a lot of them and I don't recall the VAM. Now I'll be paying more attention.

Glad the coin was saved.
And now I have another process to investigate and with to experiment.

Re: this makes me want to cry
I need a little help understanding how this happens. Long ago I was cautioned not to scratch coins with staples, and my concern was with 2x2s that hadn't had the staple flattened. This appears to be different. I developed protocols for stapling and removing, and none of them would involve this. How ...

Re: can this be saved (PVC)?
If the acetone treatments don't remove all of the green, I would consider Verdi-Care from Wizard. I bought a trial size 6 years ago, and still half of it. A little goes a long way. As always, test first on coins of low value. I have tried my hand a coin conservation, but only on junk coins. This Swe...

Re: eBay Managed Payments Restriction
My guess is that some buyers are speculating on metals market prices.
If it goes South, they want a refund.
Ebay wants PayPal to be on the hook.
Just a guess.

You can hit "Reply"
Drag your photos onto the dialogue box.
Hit the "Place inline" button for each photo.

Re: 1896-S VAM-4
I would rule out VAM-1 as it is not a near date.
VAM-10 appears to have a date that is slightly nearer than mine.
I don't see any of the markers around the ear on VAM-10.

1896-S VAM-4
I got this coin at a local auction and believe it to be a VAM-4. OB.jpg Re.jpg IMGP7008.JPG IMGP7006.JPG However, I'm a little confused about the VAM page description. “One might be inclined to call this worn coin VAM-2, based on the position of the 1 in the date. However, the center ellipse of the ...
