Re: Crackin’ Slabs & Resubmitting Stories
A lot of money in these...gained or loss it can be a wild ride. Most were crossovers.
I really need to send these in.

Re: Can we make this a guess the grade? (79-S Rev 78)
Thanks. I think it is ok, not really what I usually go after and I didn’t intend on purchasing it. However, after I negotiated a deal without this coin, the seller gave a nice price on it. I like them more like this :D The grade for this posted yesterday. The whole tru-view wouldn’t post so I had to...

Re: Is this a closed or open 9 (79-S Rev 78)
It has the lines in the wheat stock as a Vam 35. It seems to be lacking the diagonal lines in wing that the 39 is asssociated with.
Thanks for your input and help.

Re: Is this a closed or open 9 (79-S Rev 78)
I don’t have the book and can’t find one for sale. The description on the Vamworld pages uses open and closed 9 as a indicator for partially broken “r” reverses.
The coin looks like a VAM 35, but if it has a open 9, does that make it something else or do you stick with a Vam 35?

Re: 1879 s rev of 78 on the bay
Coins are selling higher at auction than they are fixed price. It is also not just eBay, it is all platforms.
It is not newbies buying a lot of the coins, it has been high-end dealers.
IMO, The coin has been rising in price for a few years, all though not as fast as it has in the last few months.

Re: Crackin’ Slabs & Resubmitting Stories
I like these stories, here is one of mine. The best one I have is probably a 79-CC (Not capped) GSA NGC MS63 I received as part of a huge trade about 4 years ago. I tried to sell it for prices that other GSA’s has brought but had no luck. I sent it to great collections and it never sold for what I a...

Re: 1879 s rev of 78 on the bay
In regards to the ANACS coin listed above, the price seems to be higher than a lot of recent sales, but it looks like it might be a better VAM. However, one of the bidders ran up some coins a few weeks ago and didn’t pay according to the seller. I received a second chance offer on two of the coins. ...

Re: Wow unbelievable
This is the “What’s it worth” forum, sp I think you’re ok. It looks like a couple sold in October for around $600 and other coins have sold recently a little over $600. If someone really wanted that Vam, you may be able to get a little more. I would expect the $600 ($540 after fees) or so for it on ...

Re: Wow unbelievable
IMO Nice 79-s R78 Coins have brought a premium for some time now. Almost all AU-MS coins that were nice brought premiums for the last few years that I can remember. As mentioned, in the last few months they have jumped enough for sellers and price guides to recognize. There have been more coins come...

Re: Wow unbelievable
Greysheet has started to move up significantly on the date as well. The date that the MS coin graded seems to reflect the most from the POP reports of both NGC and PCGS is a 1883-s. There are probably others, but it is the coin that sticks out that is comparable to me. PCGS has a few more MS65 79-S ...
