Re: my marker bid won!

Dennis you wrote That blob on my coin is crud/debris/junk that shouldn't be there, so It's good that your coin doesn't have it -- and I wish mine didn't. I was wishing my 1881 O had that perfectly oval shaped metal, on the neck. I thought it was unique. I thought it looked like the oval metal on the...

Re: my marker bid won!

Try as I might, I wasn't able to pick up that perfect oval blob on the neck.
Here are my best attempts ,to pick up the lines on the different locations on my coin.
How about your 1881 O Gray, does yours have that oval blob on the neck?

Re: my marker bid won!

GREAT, THANK YOU I tried to see that perfect oval blob, with just my loupe, but I didn't see it. I'll get on my old PC, where I can use my digital microscope and look closer later here. Do yo see it on your VAM 1D Gary? I didn't notice those lines below the leaves (obv) and above the eagle's claws (...

Re: my marker bid won!

NICE FIND Dennis, and graded to boot. I like "Flaming Devil Eye" I was lucky enough to have spotted this nice 'ungraded 1881 O', WAY back in 2013 on Ebay and jumped on it. (see seller's picture) I was jumping up and down, I was so excited, that I spotted the eye. It took me an hour to find it here. I...

Re: I NEED SOME DARK SIDE HELP, WITH MY 1925 S

A BIG THANK YOU EVERYONE. I've had this 1925 S unattributed for a long time. I think, because I was looking for a clashed 1925 S vam, because of the clash on the top of the eagle's wing. I got on my old PC today hoping someone would help me attribute my 1925 S and maybe to take more closeups, becaus...

I NEED SOME DARK SIDE HELP, WITH MY 1925 S

I have an 1925 S NGCMS63, with a clash on the top of the eagle's wing and a die crack, that looks like it breaks a little, running along, above PEACE, near the bottom, on the reverse. Also a horizontal line through the S mint mark. On the obverse all I see is a curved die crack along the top of the ...

Re: 1881 O OVER POLISHED REVERSE

I almost forgot, do any of your 1881 O vam 16 or vam 1J's have this diagonal line running under Liberty's jaw?
Or is that just, from hitting another coin, because the same shorter and parallel line below it?
Thanks again, Bert

Re: 1881 O OVER POLISHED REVERSE

Okay thank you Gary and Scott, I guess I wasn't paying attention to the vam pages and I took a couple more pictures, of the R, in LIBERTY and the diagonal line to the left of the I, IGWT. I guess it all boils down, to the position of the O mint mark. Below is some information, that I saw. Can anyone...

1881 O OVER POLISHED REVERSE

I have an 1881 0 PCGSMS62PL, that I had labeled as a vam 16. After looking at the vam 1J vam page, I think it is a vam 1J. OVER POLISHED REVERSE. I had posted it a long time ago and John 'messy desk' said he thought it had a 'sunken reverse'. Here are a lot of pictures. What do you think? Enjoy, Bert

Re: I need help with my 1880 S

Thank you for your help UNCLE BINGO,
ANYONE ELSE have any ideas on what vam it might be?
Does that look like a die chip on the bottom of Liberty's chin and
maybe on the bottom of the just above the date?
Then the doubling in IGWT and the date?
Any help would greatly appreciated Bert

Re: Is there a clashed 1891 CC VAM 3 or VAM 7 spitting eagle?

Thank you Gary, I hope you find your 1891 CC and post pictures to compare.

VAM 3 is available clashed and unclashed

Thank you John, do my pictures of the chin, lips and nose look doubled and if so,
would that make any difference or be explainable?
Thank you, Bert
