Re: DARKSIDE find 1922 S vam 2X

Thanks Tom, I meant to say vam 2A, not vam 2X.
I marked it vam 2A on the slab.
I guess just wishful thinking, that it was a vam 2X,
with the reverse rim cud R-7.

DARKSIDE find 1922 S vam 2X

I had bought this 1922 S PCGSMS63, because of the gold toning running through the reverse and had it unattributed for years. Today Brian was telling me about his 1922 S vam 1O R-7, so I started looking through my 1922 S Peace dollars and looked at some of the other 1922 S vams, on the vam pages, on ...

Re: I need help with my 1921 Peace vam 1O

Thank you John, I just received a 1921 PCGSMS64+,yesterday, that is also a vam 1O. The clashes, under the M, in UNUM, are very weak, compared to my SEGSMS63. Compare to the pictures above, on my 1921 SEGSMS63. You can see polish lines, where they tried to remove those other clashes too, on my new PC...

I need help with my 1921 Peace vam 1O

I have a 1921 SEGSMS63, that I have marked as a vam 1O. I noticed on the 1921 vam 1O page, it only shows pictures, of the two clashes running up and out, from the top of the wing and describes and has a picture of the Small high die chip at the back of the neck next to the hair, from a heavy die cla...

Re: Anyone here ever buy one of these ...

THANK YOU for posting this information.
I've been tempted more than once, in bidding higher, on a roll.
The rolls look so real.

My 1921 vam 19A

I had bid and won this 1921 AACGSMS60 awhile back, because of the holder, because the seller had blurry photos. It got interesting, when I received it and I saw the retained cud,,on the reverse and I started trying to attribute it. With the help, of you on Vamworld, you had said it was an R-7 vam 19...

Re: A little bit of coin grading history!

Thanks Wayne, I was hoping you was okay, with me posting pictures of it. I've been mowing my yard, with my smaller self propelled push mower and I think, I'm getting old, because I'm beat and I still have more to mow tomorrow. I'm still looking, to see if I have one of the slabs, with the photo of t...

Re: My 1921 Peace dollar VAM 3

Thank you Lee, John and Roger.
I had meant to say, a photo of the ray over the B,
which the top of the B and the ray looked doubled
to me.
Is the the ray doubled?
Here is better photo of the top of the B.
Thanks, Bert

Re: A little bit of coin grading history!

I had sent this GLOBAL grading slab photo, for you to see Wayne.
It doesn't show the coin photo, but has a photo of the Philadelphia mint and
some interesting information, on the reverse of the slab, that was the reason
they started minting the 1878 Morgan silver dollar.

My 1921 Peace dollar VAM 3

I was lucky enough to have seen and recognized the line running through the first L, in DOLLAR, on my 1921 PCGSMS64, one late night online, awhile back. I think I had posted it before, but it always catches my eye, as I am looking through some of my coins and brings back, the excitement, that I felt...

Re: My 1880 CC toned GSA VAM 6

Thank you Mike and Clayton, I kept looking at my picture of the die scratch inside of eagle's left wing and the picture on the vam 6 page. My picture above, shows only one die scratch and the vam 6 page picture showed a number of them. I took some more pictures at different angles and saw, that I wa...

My 1880 CC toned GSA VAM 6

I had bought this Toned GSA 1880 CC NGCMS65 long before I started learning,
about vams because I liked the unque tone pattern and the GSA slab, then I
had help attributing it as a vam 6.
In other words, I got real lucky.
Here are some pictures, see if you agree, with the vam 6.
Thanks, Bert
