Yeah, I also don't have this. Or the 'development' tab on the navigation pane.
Think we just got an image of a work in progress that we should say thank you for in advance.

Re: A question about the 80-CC VAM 7
Thanks Mitch, your discovery of VAM 9A answered one question but raises another. That earlier stage of the VAM 7 marriage likely still has the N tick from 9A.
It makes the VAM 7 versus 7A call problematic. Looks like there's work to be done here involving an elusive stage.

Re: A question about the 80-CC VAM 7
For clarity, the VAM 9A occurred first, so the early stage of VAM 7 would have the single clash on the obverse only.
It should not have the little die crack above the hair in front of the L of LIBERTY.

A question about the 80-CC VAM 7
I've been chasing an actual example of this for years with no luck. It is the marriage with the Reverse of 78 that is not the VAM 4 . It should exist, but every purported example I've seen has the doubled clash of VAM 7A. Or it's labeled like a VAM 7, but is a VAM 4. I just went thru a couple hundre...

Re: 8TF VAM-14 Proof??
It's the second use of the VAM 9 obverse, so any claimed proof is mistaken in the most charitable reading. This marriage does exist in a PL stage however.

If you encounter a Peace Dollar that actually does have a different style of numeral in the date, that's a good coin to stay away from. But I agree with John, they look the same

I'd say the Peace Dollar Red Book done by @RogerB . I'd also suggest looking at images of examples from the Heritage Auction archives

Re: legitamate question about VW 1880-O Vam 2 page
The original VAM 2 listing was generic. It's for an unremarkable coin beyond having the 'Medium O'. Sure - it could have been called Medium O set slightly left like the VAM 51 listing. You'll note VAM 51 already had one duplicate listing that had to be killed off. Van Allen didn't plate anything but...

If you're just after info on the Carson City gold issues, Doug Winter's book 'Gold Coins of the Carson City Mint' is the standard reference.

Re: How Morgan Dollars Became Indian Ruppees
I had published a long article titled "A Brief History of the Morgan Dollar' that was hosted by the ANACS site for years. Sadly, it was lost when the site was changed a few years ago. Some of you may remember reading it. The story about using melted Morgans to coin rupees was part of it.
