I was asked about this piece earlier today. I had the discovery piece come across my desk a couple of years ago and this is one that has fallen thru the cracks. I don't have the write up handy, but here are some images. The odd gouge on the M of AMERICA is its most noteworthy feature

Yeah, that's supposed to be there. And on the VAM 6 too.

This looks like one that needs a trip to me or JB

You can't even say JR because I attribute a bunch of other stuff

And he'd be far more interested in a coin or two that he'd want than a sale

Is the B at normal relief or is part of it lower than the letters on either side?

Is the thing that looks like an S raised or incuse?

My best guess is he's referring to the 21-S scribbles page, but I don't see an actual question posed

This thread is about a perfect illustration of why some of us spoke up and advocated for further research into scribbles when Van Allen asked us if it was worth pursuing. For many, many 21's it's the only unique die feature

The lines on the arrowhead are in the master die

You're going to need other stuff. That quad spread is from one of the master dies or working hubs. It appears on multiple varieties

I'd think it's a safe assumption that the long die scratch thru AMERICA exists independent of the clashing. That marker has been listed for years now and it is how the Harrison 0 stage was located in the first place. An example without the clash would likely shuffle the deck

You guys know the deal with 'two-fer' discoveries. As much as some of you don't like these, something like the VAM 54A would also be the VAM 54 discovery piece. It's not a huge stretch that this die pair would exist without the breaks that define the later stage. The actual VAM listings are official...

VAM 54 isn't delisted. It's marked as 'unconfirmed' unofficially.

At least some of this is PMD. particularly the diagonal stuff. I'd think it's better than 50-50 that all of it is damage from impact within its bag

Yeah, this specific reverse is part of a larger story and is noted for other markers. Fun!
