Re: 1898 Vam 10 or 12?
Fogie would be happy to "help" but is on the road for the next couple of weeks. When I get back home I will try to liberate the necessary coins from the bank and see what I can do to help.

1921-P VAMs 81,81A,3FW,3BQ1 &3BQ2
If you have any of the aforementioned coins registered in the SSDC registry - please note the 1921-P VAMs 81, 81A & 3FW have been delisted as redundant. Please check your coins and see if they are 1921-P VAM-3BQ1, 3BQ2, 3BQ3 or 3BQ4 and put register your piece(s) in the proper slots. (they are all i...

Re: Photos for 1881-CC VAM-5
I think what you have there is an 1881-CC VAM-2. Check out that page and you should find the die gouge between the arrow feathers and olive branch. You are quite right about it being pretty distinctive! Nice coin! VAMon

Re: 1880s I think vam24 reverse is same as vam 10
Sorry I forgot about this.... I am now home from the Long Beach Show and see I have been remiss... There is no doubt in my mind that you are correct about the common reverse. A good deal more than you may think! I have (4) slabbed 1880-S VAM-10 (1 ANACS AOH, 2 PCGS AOH & 1 self attributed) on my des...

Congratulations to John Coxe!!!
I would like to be the first to congratulate John Coxe for his Trade Dollar Challenge now being recognized by PCGS! Yes they are now putting the Trade Dollar Challenge Coxe # on slabs! (PCGS will make the announcement this coming week - as the story goes)! It has been a LOT of work to put that thing...

1888-P VAM-7(A, B, C & D)...
I just added the new 1888-P VAM 7A2, B2, C2, and D2 slots to the SSDC registry. What that means is, If you have a 1888-P VAM 7 (A, B, C or D), check your coins with these new attributions in mind to make sure they are now in the right spot: – all of the 7A became 7A1; – 7B became 7B1; – 7C became 7C...

1887-P VAM-19A/B
Does anyone know what the difference is between the 1887-P VAM-19A & B? It looks like it may be the presence of the star die break but the theory is the die progression is 19, 19B and then 19A. I currently own the discovery piece of the 19B and its star is just as cracked as the 19A. I feel that 19A...

Re: 1880-P Help needed
Hello Brent! Yes, I recognize this one. I sent my coin in to VSS a little while ago because I couldn't find a match for it either. It came back as a VAM-40. As you probably know, the 80-P VAM-40 had a "dubious" listing but I don't believe this is actually a VAM-40 though. I have a coin which I thin...
