Great job and most deserved. The 1921 set has scared Vam attributions people away for years. You should get an award just for having to stare at scribbling scratches.

Great picture. I am sure that as the beer and drinks were consumed the Vam stories began to pile on. The
Loud raucous of good Italian food never hurts either. Great way to meet old friends and new collectors.

Thanks for your input. I was rather skeptical going in on this discussion, and yes there is quite a wide spread of opinions of the so called value on Flee bay. Let the buyer beware. As I wrote initially, it can’t be too rare since it was in my breakfast change. Thanks everyone.

Re: pocket change coin question
I agree that maybe we should move discussion to the Buy, Sell area , or What’s it worth. I would like to hear from J.R. , if he knows anything about the scarcity of the George Drool variety.

pocket change coin question
This coin is definitely out of my comfort zone. I looked this morning at my change from Star Bucks, only to discover that my Washington Quarter, was looking at me to the right instead of the normal left profile. I Googled the 2022 Washington quarter, only to realize that the mint made the obverse ch...

Re: OT Capped Bust Half Grading question
Thanks for your comments. The coin is XF-45 and rotated CCW 40 degrees. There is good luster on the reverse and some on the obverse. Interesting thing about the Capped Bust halves, is the frequent full 1 grade difference between the two sides.

Interesting response, which is why I posted this. I will hold off till we have more people chime in.
BTW, this is a 210 year old coin created on a screw press. Metal flows are quite common on these too.

Note what a difference the reverse detail is as compared to the obverse. What would be your grade gu...

Re: Cool Peace $ CUD
I place this coin ( Vam 2U2) along with the Morgan Spaghetti Vam (1878 S Vam 18) as both 5 star key coins to a collection. It is a joke to me that neither of these appear on a “ List”. I think it is time to blow up some of the List entries and replace them with much more interesting and difficult ex...

Cool Peace $ CUD
Found this one recently at a local coin show. One rare bird- population of now 2. Guess the Vam.
I love mint errors, but especially Cuds.

Re: CAC is the next new grading company
JB You are an elite coin grader IMHO, I am NOT! I found it interesting that Mr. Albanese admits he needs a Monday Refresher on grading to wipe away the grading brain fog. I like the intense training of the next up and coming graders. They only disagree on about 5-10 coins per 500 graded and re-exami...

Big announcement today from John Albanese. He started both PCGS and NGC. This is big for the coin industry. CAC will be the next new kid on the block.

Great looking 2500 year old coin JR! I may be wrong, but I believe that the owl is the symbol honoring Athena, who Athens is named after. The helmet detail is amazing.
